Think I need a new accountant

Current one is, to be honest, Sh.... well, not much use.

Our current needs are;

- Personal Tax Returns for two business partners (No property, shares, weirdness)
- Partnership Tax Return
- Preparation of Annual Accounts.
- Low Tax Bill!
- Being presented with nominal data for us to enter into Sage each year to bring in line with Accounts, eg, depreciation etc
- Be Proactive, contact us first

We use Sage Instant ATM, have no payroll / employees, and do our own VAT Returns, Book Keeping, Invoicing etc.

Current Accountant had last years accounts dumped from Sage last June, then went into hospital, moved offices, and never contacted us once, or even told us. I chased him from November onwards and finally got Tax Returns back to sign 5 days before deadline, I am expecting fines :-(

Future plans may involve going Ltd (we have the company, just not moved, cost, advice on this please), and launching a second Ltd company for a different web based business. Again we have the company, and are working towards a launch. We have Instant Payroll ready, and will probably upgrade to next Sage Accounts up Multi Company to keep things easy.

So, as ever, cheekily looking for free advice in general, but also testimonials, receommendations, and of course prices!

I don't *need* a local accountant, hell in this day and age I probably don't even need to meet them!, phone, post, email, web conferencing will do. So someone using technology good, at same time some huge company where I get dumped on an apprentice and no personal touch. We're not a drain on resources, but we do like to feel like we're your most important client when we do need something!

That's a rather good checklist, and if you are not getting that, then change.

In particular the low tax bill might involve a change to Ltd, but there are pros and cons to that which must be explained and understood.

Again like I have just posted on another thread I could also offer all the services you require. Add if you wanted to change accountancy/payroll packages I can provide a complete intergrated "online" system. Not to imply you must change it's just an option :) oh and I am just a phone call away!

My direct email is "[email protected]" should you wish to get in touch.

Regards

Dean

Thanks to everyone who's posted and PM'd, have what looks like some good offers to consider, would have replied earlier and been a bit more pro-active but have been swamped this week, stuck with the unfortunate deluge of new clients, don't you just hate that!

I will be doing some research over the weekend and contacting people next week that look of interest.

Thanks again.
