Parthelan

Well, Im not yet, but I thought Id start a thread for us insomniacs to use when we finally feel the urge to grab a few minutes shut eye. :D:D:D

How useful is that eh? :p

If I go to sleep now I won't wake up for the race. I am going to go for a cofee and a drive whilst the roads are empty.

Well, all you F1 fans, shattered dot coms, and grateful abusers :D Im off to me bed .... for a few hours ..... see you all tomorrow at some point.
Switch the light off when you're all done, and put the cups and glasses in the sink, I'll sort them out when I get up ... too tired to do it now :D

I honestly can't remember what sleep is like :(

Wait till little madam is home - mind though, she could be a good sleeper. Only one of ours was. The irony is, even though she just about slept through the night, I then couldnt sleep, all the time wanting to check on her, and wondering what was wrong with her that she was sleeping  :D

Sometimes, you just cant win :D

Lol. Tis true :D

Spent most of today with her, and she's generally quiet, but when she does decide to cry, man can she scream or what

I'll not be able to sleep til she's here, and even then, I probably won't be able to sleep anyway.

I'm going outside... and I may be some time :D:D:D

Got to walk the dogs, then off to see a friend for the rest of the evening to play chess.

I shall not be returning here tonight, so I bid thee all a pleasant night.

:)

Well, slight change of plan - I know I said I wouldnt be back tonight, but thats because the old boy I play chess with likes a bit of company late into the night and he's a very worthy opponent, so the game can go on a bit - but he had a fit tonight - he has epilepsy, but it's well controlled. Unfortunately it took it out of him, so the nursing staff called a halt to our shenanigans.
Anyhow, wadd eye miss :D

Have a friend with epilepsy. He has at least 10 in a week, sometimes a lot more. He has had it for forty years and wets himself when he has it. He is a good man but he carries on with his life the best he can and is married.

We have a lot of blessings to count. He come with me once into a reception and while I was talking, he had a fit and broke through the table. It is surprising how it frightens us more than them as they are unaware but it is sad and I hope your friend is ok.

He's a tough old boot. His fitting was a lot worse when he was younger, and it took them years to get his medication right, but it's very well controlled now. Only maybe two fits a month. He lived at home until his wife died, and managed very well. Course as he got older, and then his wife dying, it was much more difficult and eventually the family decided a nursing home was the best option for him. They all live far away and it's difficult for them to visit, so I make sure I go see him once a week at least, either for a short visit or if we're playing chess a long nighter.
I fail to see why he shouldnt be as annoyed as the rest of us just because he lives in a swanky nursing home populated with gorgous young nurses  so I like to go there and annoy him as much as possible :D

Lol seriously though hope your friends ok. :)

He's fine. I stayed to see he was settled, then took my leave. He's always a bit groggy after a fit, but he's in great hands there, and will no doubt call in the morning to tell me I caused the fit deliberately as I was 4 moves away from him checkmating me and there was nothing I could do about it :D

Bit over the top wasn't it; I normally just accidently knock the board over when that happens to me.
