There are some here who seem not to like The Daily Mail. (Hello Bazza, hello Maria). Just because it is a scurrilous, homophobic, racist, sensationalist, xenophobic little Englander tabloid rag which supported the losers in WW2, it's worth is denied. Well there is no pleasing all the people all of the time, so for those Dacrephobes, a quote from Alistair Campbell:

"Meanwhile, thanks to the T-shirt manufacturer who sent me the 'Hated by the Daily Mail' top a few months ago. I shall pop it on with pride as I prepare to go out on my bike. To be hated by The Mail is to know that whatever other faults you may have, you've done something right."

(Although the name Alistair Campbell, used here, conjures up the phrase, "twixt the devil and the deep blue sea".)

Whatever gave you that impression, Matthew? If it wasn't for the Mail, what would there be left to rsnt sbout?

Even Campell can be right some of the time. I even agree with some of the ideas of Brown and Cameron (but not many).

If it's fashionable, it is comforting to know I've been fashionable for 40 odd years.

Incidentally, I see M&S, Nestle, Visit England, Kodak and National Express have removed their adverts from the DM website reporting the death of Stephen Gately, and the Mail has changed its headline about this in later editions - see: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/oct/16/stephen-gately-boyzone
