But how much are you expecting to to pay a "self employed" telemarketer? If they've been self employed at this game, for any length of time then they're going to want big bucks anyway.

Could you afford £200 a day if those firms were getting you the work in?
I am not angling for this business, it's not what we do (but I know a firm that does). But I would argue can you afford not to spend £200 a day on professional telemarketing rather than hoping to get someone cheap and cheerful.
Remember, you get what you pay for.
