Yes, a few have so far but we haven't yet started the process of asking them formally to do this so that was just the ones who suggested it to us as we were signing them up.
Using a tagline similar to that would encourage people to buy a card, so we will be adding something although possibly not quite as direct as that.
Was just an example but If the average customer would save more than the card cost, then I can see them paying for it. Provided they could sign up online and use their card number straight away, or tick a box on the hotels webpage when booking, get the discount and then pick their card up when they stay.
That's true actually. Here is some more recent data from the US:
US travellers who use selected devices to book travel, by category, August 2012 (% of respondents):
- Hotel: 51% via PC / 17% via Tablet / 11% via Smartphone
- Air travel: 46% via PC / 11% via Tablet / 9% via Smartphone
- Ground transport: 21% via PC / 10% via Tablet / 7% via Smartphone
- Attractions/activities: 14% via PC / 10% via Tablet / 10% via Smartphone
- Restaurant: 10% via PC / 9% via Tablet / 10% via Smartphone
- TOTAL: 77% via PC / 34% via Tablet / 28% via Smartphone

Don't think that helps you much as the numbers don't add up.
