Hi there!

Hope you are all well and have made a good start to 2017.

I have come in seeking advice as regards to the next steps for my business. My business is effectively a platform whereby clients can search for local personal trainers in their area's - being able to view the trainers profile. From personal experience and gaining feedback from gyms all across the country, there is a huge amount of clients who want their personal trainers to tick all the right boxes. Not every client wants their personal trainer to look like the next "Arnie" but then again some do. It's all about being able for clients to interact with potential trainers before they even start any sessions! These days personal trainers rely on social media, word of mouth etc for advertising, but this doesn't cover no where near the amount we can provide those trainers. A subscription fee is charged to the personal trainers which is barely an hour's work for a monthly subscription basis.

Hopefully you can understand the setup we have going on! I was just looking for help as regards the format/fundamentals of the website. Obviously it is going to be clean and tidy with no crazy banners/images/videos flying about the place - however it needs to be engaging.

We want to be able to let the personal trainers update their very own profile page with any information they want to offer the customer. They shall build up a huge and sustainable client basis who can be contacted via the messaging service on the website. They can update their personal information as and when they wish.

In essence, should I make the website a one-to-one basis whereby you can search your area for trainers and simply view their profile to get in touch. Or create a forum whereby trainers and clients can discuss openly by replying to threads created by the trainer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Rob

Your cheapest and simplest option would be a Wordpress site with the free Business Directory plugin and a selection of their related (paid) premium upgrade modules including "Claim Listing" and "Google maps".

There are various options to create a forum on a WP site ... or you could use vBulletin or similar to create a forum in a sub-domain/folder.

    However....

Building the website is the easy bit. Building the database and marketing the service is going to be time consuming, expensive and difficult.

Ive been working with someone doing very similar and after a year they still haven't managed to get enough trainers signed up to make it viable even in their local area. Happy to chat about this if you want to send a PM.
