Some people when do business with China companies that are very afraid to be cheat. As a Chinese citizen, I'd like to give you some recommendation.
1. Please pay by PayPal.
I think till now PayPal is the most fast and safe way to pay internationally. If something wrong happen, you can apply for refund. If they refuse, you can contact PayPal and PayPal will punish them. PayPal will froze their account.
2. Check the duration of the company.
Almost all fraud's companies are new registered. After they success in cheating, they will change another company name. long lasting companies seldom cheating.
3. Check the size of the company. It is much safer to trade with larger companies.
4. For online shops, you can use alexa.com to check some basic information.
