Sole Trader - Business Card Query

Just a quick question.

What do you (fellow sole traders) have on your business card, i.e. do you put a title on your business cards?

Would be interested to hear from you.

Titles are only important if they're important to you. It can also depend on whether you're in an industry where titles are needed to give prestige or, if your business has enough people, to distinguish you from others - eg. owner etc.

If you're on your jack jones, I'd just stick with that....

....unless, of course, you're not called Jack Jones

Your customers are often unaware or indeed don't care whether you are a sole trader or partner or limited company etc..

However if they know they are dealing with the owner of the business rather than what they might think is just the employee of a larger business, I think it makes a difference. (IMHO)

No title, unless it's a name title relevant to your area of business (like Dr if you're working in a medical/professional industry with your business).

Just have my name, what I do (ie. type of business), contact & web info.

Most self-employed individuals simply don't include a title on their cards. If you do, then 'Proprietor' or 'Consultant' are usually good ones to use.
