I'm also bolstered by the fact that spending online is increasing at a much faster rate than the overall economy is receding. I feel having less cash is converting people to internet shopping actually.
This is a key fact for most of us, even if you are on the other side of the coin (ie brick/mortar only).
In fact the overall market does not matter unless you are HMG. All that matters is your own micro market.
The stress is forcing more people down different purchase routes. With all this stuff it is guesswork, but you just have to get your fishing rod in the right bit of the pool.
