I need to get 2 pallets to Melbourne in Australia but I'm at a loss as to where to look for the best price? Any recommendations? Anyone able to give me a ballpark figure. Pallets are no more than 250Kg, 2m high and I need them to go from Devon to Melbourne. Don't need air freight.

Hi Liam - the phrase you want to search on is "freight forwarder". As far as I remember when we shipped 1 pallet weighing 180kg to Oz it cost about 450 GBP to send by sea freight via Singapore and took about 5 weeks [memory is hazy though and I don't have figures to hand!].

You need to be clear on what you are being quoted for, there are lots of industry terms like "DDU" that are used which will clarify responsibilities in terms of where they deliver to and who pays what taxes where.

I finally found a very helpful company here in Surrey, but I don't think that will be much use to you in Devon... hope you find a good one down there!
