Hi All,

Apologies if this has been covered - search is not my friend today.

I am a small e-commerce business currently in the process of building up trade.
We seem to be attracting a lot of customer from Europe and US and am trying to get my head around the shipping process to the US.

We use UPS for our large shipments in the UK and was going to do the same for any US orders.

Can someone please explain the process of sending items to the US? Do you ensure customers are aware of import tax responsibilites etc? What documentation do you need to provide.

Grateful for any assistance.

Thanks

Mo

Before anything else, do you have product/public liability insurance for the US as this is a legal requirement for all imports?

It depends on what you are selling but in some sectors there are very stringent testing requirements. Childrenswear is one area where the US requirements far exceed those of the EU.
