Hi

I am about to set up my website where I'll be selling a physical product.

What do I need to complete to sell into EU for B2C ?

There seems to be a 'One stop shop' I need to register with to stop my customers being charged EU import duty/VAT

I am not VAT registered

And would it be the same for B2B?

Would I need to provide a EU Vat checker on my website so I have record of selling to EU business?

IOSS is effectively a VAT registration in whatever EU jurisdiction you choose.

There is also the option of using DDP services through a parcel carrier but you then need to ensure VAT and duty is calculated as it would be applied in receiving country.

How you set it up really depends on volumes, order value and mix of B2C/B2B. There are plenty of third party service and software solutions to implement whichever route you take. Have a look at Royal Mail website for some ideas.

None of these will stop your customers paying EU VAT and duty, it's just 'when' they pay plus the benefit of eliminating/reducing customs delay.

oh ok thanks.

So I need a third party whatever ? Whether I want one or not? An irrexpective of whether I am VAT registered or not.

So with the The IMport Sales Shop, I can sell with all the correct import duty/VAT added at the checkout, and then manually input the details at the One Stop Shop providers website?

Sorry I may have asked the 'wrong questions'

Official EU info here

Royal Mail info here

Parcel2Go DDP info. Other carriers may offer a DDP service.

Not saying you should use Royal Mail, Parcel2Go or any of the third party solutions they mention, just to give an idea of what's out there, explained better than I can.

You can send anything you like to anyone you like as DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) but they will have to pay VAT/duty in their country before delivery plus a handling charge (which is almost impossible to find out for any given parcel carrier).
