Selling business. Ebay or Shpock?

    Hey everyone,

One of my clients is selling their business, which includes stock, premises, website, and social media – basically, a fully operational business that's already profitable. They’re leaving the UK to start a new life abroad and have given me an idea of what they want for it. I jokingly asked if I'd get a commission if I found a better buyer, and they said yes.

The thing is, I've never sold a business before, and this isn’t your typical small business you see on Facebook groups like a chip shop or car wash. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on good places to advertise and connect with potential buyers? Obviously not eBay or Shpock :)

Thanks a lot and have a great day!

    Then don't do it now!

There's a ton more to selling a business than most people appreciate.

To answer your questions, you can find 'good places to advertise' here, how to sell a business here and tons more about selling businesses here.

But, seriously, do the owners (and yourself) a favour and don't bother 'finding a buyer' for them! That's not how selling a business works.

Finding the buyer is less than 1% of what it takes to successfully sell a business. (and 80% of the buyers out there are dodgy buyers. You've not got the faintest idea of how to spot them or how to deal with them).

Well, Im well aware of scammers etc, as we all know, one of the most famous business scams was the Eiffel Tower :)
What sort of business? What’s the estimated value?
Hey! It's a business in pleasure products industry. Not sure if I should put any figures in public.

    Thanks for your replies

For nominal cost you can advertise on RightBiz or business for sale. If they are already selling the business where have the put it up for sale or do they have a broker?
On this forum you will probably only receive negative comments and people telling you are not capable of trying to succeed. Almost everyone here is Mr Negative with nothing positive or encouraging, so have ago, apart from a nominal cost and a bit of time who knows what may happen.
