Hello,
I hope you're all doing well!
I'm looking for some general feedback and initial impressions on the landing page of our service, leadsfinder.co.uk. Most of all, I want to improve and make sure the offering is as clear as possible, so there's no confusion. My goal has been to make it as simple and user friendly as possible. I would also like to make an FAQ section, so I'm eager to know what most people think when they first see it.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Eric

    Hi @Eric
Simple and straightforward and able to get to the product, and for me I understand the product (I created a company that does what you do back in 2007 and sold it in I think 2018 or 2019).

I wouldn't use target group on the CTA, but perhaps select target audience or target market. Use words which are what your clients will be looking for, group I don't think does that.

I would also suggest using an AJX lookup for the sic code on keywords rather than making the person (who may not recognise SIC codes) click through them.

Side note, look at the Companies House streaming API as it will allow you to have a more responsive product rather than making your customers wait a month for data. The streaming API will allow you to provide data in realtime. We helped CH develop it ;)

What are the leads you are finding?

You can tell me about newly registered companies within SIC codes but that's not really a lead.

Using SIC codes isn't that helpful as I really need to know about new businesses looking for a particular service. As an example, suppose I offer financial services or do painting and decorating. How will your service help me find targeted leads?

And as @Ozzy says, I would expect daily updates. Ideally push notifications to my browser/phone.

The anonymity is a bit of a worry as it the signup form. I added my email and clicked the magic link which now just tells me to login. I clicked on 'My Account' but this doesn't go anywhere except to tell me to log out.

Thank you, great feedback about the CTA and navigation issue, I had a feeling that would come up. I will take a look at the streaming API to see if I can use that in the notification feature! Much appreciated :)

No, this is not legally allowed based on my own experience of owning a business in this sector. When GDPR came into force I got legal advice on my business (New Start Data) and liaised with Companies House.
It is all down to the 'purpose' by which the data subjects provide their information to Companies House and any attempt to use that data outside of that purpose is against the law. So you can freely use the company name and address but you are not legally allowed to use the director's names for marketing purposes as that was not the purpose by which the data was provided to Companies House, so consent has not been obtained.

    Good point.

So does that mean the provision of that name data from Eric cannot be used, just the company name/address?

I could not see on the website whether he included names so assumed didn't, and also does depend if @Eric includes names whether they come from Companies House or third party that does come with consent given.

When I open a new limited company I am sure that I do not give consent for marketing.

However, we are talking B2B and postal marketing.......

I assumed it was from the CH feed, so registered directors....

Agreed, simple and straightforward but I got bored of clicking through the SIC codes trying to find relevant ones to me very quickly. Needs some kind of search function, possibly along with "recommended similar codes".
I added a search function to help with this. Using AI to match descriptions with SIC codes. Probably way too over engineered but I enjoyed the challenge. Will improve more on that in the coming days with "similar codes", etc. Thank you for the feedback!

    Always up to date

We collect public data on every single company registered in the UK on a monthly basis, so you you can be sure you're getting the most up to date leads.

    You've got you in twice!

Also, from someone with a half-interest in this kind of data - I'd be interested
    • to see a preview of how the data looks - and what fields are included
    • to know what limits you're going to impose - can I really download all of the data every day - or will you get fed up if I do? Not that I want to, but I expect there to be some limits
Finally, you impose terms and conditions on your users and say you're going to store all sorts of their data and usage - yet you are completely anonymous and don't comply with the UK's disclosure requirements. Just looks unnecessarily shady.

    Thank you, valid points!
I like the preview part, will try to make something this week.

I don't know which data and usage you are referring to, but I don't have any interest in my users data other than for the standard authentication and sending emails with their exported files. Other than that, the only data I have is basically my nginx logs that stores IPs and request information that I use in cases when I need to debug something. I also do log rotation so the logs are deleted regularly. I'm sorry you got a shady impression, that's a failure on my part. I'm just a sole trader right now, so I haven't sorted everything out yet, but I'm working on it!

Putting your contact details on the site in the footer would help with trust.

I’d also rethink the domain name. It suggests you provide a lead finding service. Getting a list of recently formed companies isn’t the same as getting a list of potential leads. It might feel a bit pedantic but a generic domain name will serve you better than something very specific that can be misunderstood.

    Looks good overall.

    Couple of thoughts:
    1. I’d get some testimonials/reviews/social proof in place.
    2. consider repeating the CTA at the bottom of the page.
    3. The spacing between header and body elements in your ‘features’ section is inconsistent (on mobile).
A personal preference would be to make the landing page longer (pull a summary of the ‘How it Works’ content into the landing page and remove the link to that page - which competes with your CTA). You’ll need to test this though to see what works.

    Best of luck with it!

Hi @Eric! Big fan of the subtle animations and colours. I think you've set up the headings very well and its strong.

The CTA button needs a revision, perhaps with a gradient effect and a brief information on what happens when users click the button, such as 'Select your target audience to get started'.

I think adding more visuals like icons in the columns and adding more spacing between the sections, but the white space is spot on overall.

The landing page is definitely missing social proof/ customer testimonials, so I'd work on that as soon as you can or perhaps logos of companies that use your service or trust badges that relate to your business.

It's a strong landing page - I don't think you need to add much more information, just a couple of updates to make it more engaging! Social proof is a must for your page going forward.
