I am looking to sign up with feefo but I got a question for other users who are using a similar service. Does the ranking of these companies affect the performance? According to alexa.com, Trustpilot has the best ranking. The problem with Trustpilot is that anyone can leave a review which can be abused by competitors. I would like reviews from only verified buyers. Which platform would you guys recommend?

Hi jmann. Presumably no one on these websites has ever reviewed your business; so, do you have a clean slate? I would be curious to know what you expect to achieve by having reviews on one or more of these websites?

You can't stop people reviewing - they can leave a review even if they didn't buy anything (eg: someone who was disgruntled about your customer service).

People can leave reviews against your website on Trustpilot even if you don't sign up, so if a competitor wants to leave a fake review they're going to do this regardless.

I've had direct eperience with this, sadly. ^

Personally, for all my businesses, I sign up to all these sights because I want a notification when someone reviews us, good or bad. As a company, it also gives you a lot more control by being able to steer bad reviews. I'm a firm believer that 9/10 times, a bad review can be made less so by how you respond; I respond to all reviews and have found that I have actually derived business from my responses to bad reviews! Depending on what happened, you then have the chance to either use humour to make the world see that your reviewer was lying (some pretty comical ones, I've seen - things we didn't even sell haha) or embracing a truly negative experience with a heartfelt response with an offer to make the situation right.

While sites like Feefo are great because they can only be real customers, who actually knows this? Mostly just us business owners? The harsh reality is, as far as the public is concerned, all reviews are real - even from your sites full of fake reviews like TrustPilot and TripAdvisor.

I am not looking to use more than one site. My question is whether these companies ranking provide a better result with Google. For example, Trustpilot ranking is very high compared to rest of the review sites.

Global Rank - 731
Rank in United Kingdom - 71

This is why I want reviews from verified buyers. I don't mind bad reviews from verified buyers since it will help me improve my service but I don't want competitors leaving fake reviews which can hurt the business.

Trustpilot reviewers are genuine and all our reviews are tracible So it is a very good site that works hard to carry only genuine content

If a competitor reviews your site then that is the risk in the modern world . If they want to promote negative feedback they can do it without you or them signing up to a site .

I am reading through this thread and feel for you cold and timid souls who appear to be frightened of your owns shadows
A bad review is a fact of life sometimes and how you react to that is more important than the actual review itself

This post is not regarding genuine or fake reviews. I am trying to understand whether Trustpilot's higher ranking will make any difference to my site SEO compare to other providers like feefo, reviews.co.uk, etc.

Trustpilot is very expensive compared to other providers, so I am trying to decide whether its worth the extra cost.

Not really. Google just want reviews. The benefit is increased trust in your business not ranking.

It is not worth the costs unless you are doing a lot of online business I just have the free option .
I think you would be better off investing money in a good SEO person to do the SEO work properly

Trust Pilot do offer a free package, this may be worthwhile whilst you start collating your review. Another option if you just wanted to display reviews is either Facebook or Google reviews.

Yes but if you need to upgrade then their cheapest plan costs £149/month on 12 months contract. Plus if you need product review then you need to pay £349/month on 12 months contract.

I don't think you can move reviews between platforms.

Unfortunately you can't move them between platforms, what features of the paid packages do you require? Are there the same options on alternate sites?

I need product review. Other sites are offering it for lower cost. For example, reviews.co.uk is charging £72/month for company and product review. Trustspot.io is around £64/month.

    We are on trustpilot.
You have the option to response to reviews. So if someone does say you are useless and are not a real customer - you can add a comment to say they are not a customer.

Yes, I am aware of it. My only concern is that if I need to upgrade in future, it will not be cheap. Reviews cannot be moved to a different platform.

If you want product reviews just use the review options built into your platform. People rarely leave products reviews so paying trustpilot or any other provider will be pointless.

This is exactly what I would do, more often than not products have review elsewhere on sites ran by the manufacturer. It could be an option to link to these reviews in the product description.

I would advise not to use trust pilot as they side on the customer's side and do not listen to the retailer. We have had issues with some customers blackmailing us for free goods and also an issue with a credit card fraudster leaving a review and trust not removing it although we have provided proof. We are now looking at Feefo or Yotpo
