Registering company in Spain or England

We are setting up an e commerce site. I am in the UK and business partner (designer) is in Spain. Our target audience we envisage will be in the UK and US. My gut feeling is that it would be best to register the company in the UK as i will be responsible for everything legal/sales/marketing/everything not in the designer field.
Would appreciate the expert advice of the forum please.

From my limited understanding, it will be easier to set up as a UK company, and probably less tax. And if you are doing that side of it, if you can't speak Spanish that would also make UK the obvious choice.

I think you answered your own question. The only thing Spanish about your company is your partner's physical location. Also, I've never heard of anyone voluntarily setting up a company in Spain; I think it's too bureaucratic there or summat.

I am far from a expert but I live in Spain I have investigated all options over a long time and and it is not as bad as is made out, Spain has a large untoouched black economy that is unlikely to change, hence why many people do not opt in.....but to be legal then for the best option (join a co-operative) then on on every 1k you earn in Spain (if you need to invoice - non black market) then you pay 160/180Eur in, there are many other schemes, but unless you live here and need healthcare bla bla, then I would not bother, the only things that is a pain is a SL company, Spain has better systems than the UK in some ways and far worse in others, for example you could have a business that takes thousands and just pay a fixed tax of about 4500 a year, but is 25% (of that 4500) for first 6 month and gradually creeps up to the full amount before 2 years and is a ******** to get out of, You have at least 5 options in Spain similar to the UK which has basically Ltd LLP or S/E

At the moment, I have had to become legal in Spain to have a Amazon.es company but I do not have to pay anything right now

The best thing for the OP is to have a UK or German account where he pays the guy living in Spains wages too, or he join a co-operative scheme where they would invoice the UK company and take the social out, that way he join the Spanish pension which is better and the Spanish healthcare.
