Hi, new member so hope I'm asking in the right place.
I'm looking at starting a clothes collection business in West Yorkshire, (Used clothes, shoes etc).
I've noticed many of these springing up recently with metal recycle boxes on street corners etc.
My main question is if anyone has any contacts of who would purchase these off me in bulk, ie recycle companies etc.
Any info on this business would be appreciated
Thanks

I have seen a few of these metal boxes. There has been one outside of a ship for about two years for used bras and they are meant to help cancer charities. The same bra has been hanging out for well over 18 months when I last saw it which was about a month ago and was still there. I would hate to see inside.

It has probably got sick in it, plastic bottles and tops etc. Not a nice sight.

I think people are becoming more wary of these things. Although on a different subject, there was a campaign for crisp packets. They were being saved to send abroad and we could hand them in to supermarkets in their collection boxes. I saved loads and used to take the neighbours as well.

I had about 100 here and took them over. The box was gone. The other supermarket has also got rid of theirs and said they were collecting toothpaste tubes now.

I tried to find where to send the packets to or take them to but this leaves me paying postage and a trip to the postbox. I never bothered collecting the toothpaste tubes. They go in the bin and the crisp packets went in the bin.

Because these efforts are so temporary it is becoming counterproductive and we are bothering less.

They are sold by tonne I believe, probs best to Google "second hand clothes purchasers"

Bear in mind there's probably legislation on reselling clothes I.e they should be pre-treated etc...?
