Receiving Payments from Russian Customers

Do any other business owners know of any ways to accept payments from Customers in Russia, besides cryptocurrency?

We presently have a Customer who owes for orders just before the Russian-Ukraine crisis, whereby IBAN and cards payments were subsequently suspended.

The Customer maintains he has not found a viable payment route.

Thank you.

We had a problem with a Russian customer needing to pay us early in the conflict. They had tried to pay but we didn't get it. When we spoke to our bank they were very aggressive telling us not to attempt to get any more payments from Russia or they'd close our account. Was very over the top considering we were just trying to get an invoice paid. As far as I'm aware, there are no viable payment routes.

****** transactions were band by Putin early in 2022 although towards the end of the year the ****** ban was lifted to allow transactions as a work around to the sanctions etc etc. The US and EU since have slapped various mechanisms on the ****** markets to stamp out illegal transactions but I think the whole thing is very disjointed and the Russians have some workarounds to get by this. Not saying I would recommend this way forward as above but do a bit of googling you may find an answer;

The link here from something I saved back last year bit heavy going but you will get a handle on what the US have been up to best of luck

Do you have a trusted customer / contact in India, China, Brazil etc? China is the best route.
