Situation that has become a bigger problem with recent trading, and I cannot find an obvious solution though I am sure we are not the only business with this requirement :
Notification or visibility to staff of payments received from customers.
This will allow staff to determine if a CoD or advance-payment customer has paid, and therefore schedule delivery. Currently only 1 person has direct access to bank account records, and this is an obstacle to smooth order processing.
My simple (as in simpleton?) expectation is that there is a way to allow staff to see bank records in real time, but not make any payments out of the account. I have asked our current bank NatWest if they can do this, and they seem bamboozled.
These customers are typically trade; we have a Web shop for retail and tracking payments through that is much less of a problem. We could implement a trade Web shop but that will take time and money, and will still only be a partial solution.
Any advice on possible solutions please?
