How much would you be prepared to pay for a proffesional CV.

Also how many people have used a proffesional letter writing service?

I think they are going to be offering one and want a sensible pricing structure. It depends on whether you are looking to make everyones CVs a bit more professional or you are really looking at the higher up pros.

Not sure if you are "buying" or "selling" but make sure that your 'proffesional' CV has a spell check run on it.

Personally I wouldn't be prepared to pay for a CV writing service, on the other hand, depending on what it was used for I may use a letter writing service for cover letters for tenders etc etc.

Obviously unlike my post. I will be spell checking all the CV's I write.:D

But yes. I want to know how much people would be prepared to pay me.
I have seen ridiculous prices quoted like £500. If it was the other way around I would expect a full body massage and someone to go to the interview in my place.

Other prices vary from £35-£250.

I think it really depends on the service. If you are just looking at ready CVs and formatting and rewording them its one price. But if you are constructing the CV by talking to the person it is a completely different price

If you can't spell "professional" without a spell-checker I'm afraid I wouldn't entrust my CV to you for any price. I'd pay a small amount for a MS Word template that made it looked wonderful though.

Thank you for all the posts pointing out my spelling error, no doubt there will be more to come.
I would like someone to actually say how much they think it is reasonable for me to charge.

I think there should be a bronze, silver and gold. Im not sure how you would difrentiate but obviously a school leaver wont be spendin as much as someone in the legal industry.

If i were in the market £75-£100, but I would want to see testimonials from real people and prehaps good detail at to what you will be doing for me, with even a copy of some peoples CVs you have done previous.

I got a template offline. Its very good and has only ever failed in getting me an interview in 1 place (i think the reason is because my job history did not have anything to do with the job i applied for).

That was free.

But seriously, this is just me personally, don't think i'm being a tit.

I wouldn't pay someone myself, it defeats the whole purpose of having a C.V. I know some people just won't be as good as others but stilll it just seems a bit wrong. But other people will think differently.


C.V story for you though, I wrote my ex's C.V, as hers was terrible and she couldn't get a job. She gets the job, I give her tons of support, realises that her life is now good and has a career (we lived far apart), she didn't want to come here no more and was a big part in why we broke up. She got a job at a school and I just found out she met her new man there too!

So writing other peoples C.V's can be good, but think I will give it a miss next time. :(

My partner wrote my cv, and most of the time I get a call. I think you have to have a natural ability to be descriptive and creative.

Its something I think he should do - but he wont, lol

It was just an idea I had.
I might just stick to what I know best. Retail and sacking people.

I am a published writer so I think I could get away with it, but I am probably too busy with recent developments now. I will still keep it in mind for down times.
