Gone from 3 down to N/A

Must be all the link building I'm not doing. Still, ranking #1 though so it's not all bad news.

OMG your domain is 2 yrs old and PR 8! Can anyone else here not appreciate how crazy/incredible that is? Much props, how'd you do it?

Well what can i say ;) We are an SEO Company....

All our sites have gone up to at least PR5 with some 6's, 5's, 7's, but this pr8 is our best.

PR8 is a massive jump i still think its an error especially when you see Google drop to 7

With that beastly pr 8, are you ranking for any highly competitive keywords? You should be ranking #1 for SEO!

I was well pleased to get an increase from 2 to 3 today. My other site went from 1 to 3 and it's only a year old, and so needless to say I'm pretty chuffed!

I don't actually see what importance PR has at all but, like you guys, I can't help but care about it!

To the guy with the PR8 site - wow. That is unbelievable. When big cblue chip companies like Yell can only manage 7, it's amazing that you've managed to get an 8!

Thanks, lots of hard work and time have gone in to it. Some of the blue chips seem to have very poor seo campaigns in place to be honest. We ahve recently had a big blue chip company join us after doingit in house, and their onpage and offpage seo was terrible, but they ranked ok because the size of the site, and some high quality natural links they had. We are currently working with them to sort out some very basic issues.

So i wouldnt go too much on the size of the company or their budget to determine their online strategy.

Yeah, I get what you mean. I guess I just meant that your big blue chips must get lots of links to their sites just by being well known - on forums, especially - so for you to get such a high PR without being a household name (no offence!) seems like one hell of an achievement!

Of course, it's not all about links these days...

when the pr update, one of my page went up from PR0 to PR2 ,but i use no follow tag on it (contact us). why ? its a unimportant "page" - (pickegg.com/Help/LiveChat.html) . how can i flow its authority to home page maximumly?

After one year full effort on my site, now i got good hike in PR from 2 to 5. Also noticed that most of the inner pages have very good ranking like 4, 3 and really happy with this update!
Thanks.

We have some autoblogs that were set up for a test which we never did and they haven't been touched for a while. Big jump in PR and ranking...

Too right. Wait until you start dealing with their own marketing people!

This one always gets me. ;)

If PR has nothing to do with ranking then how come so many website designers and SEO'ers worship it so much? :p

When Google was founded, one key innovation was PageRank, a technology that determined the “importance” of a webpage by looking at what other pages link to it, as well as other data. Today we use more than 200 signals, including PageRank, to order websites, and we update these algorithms on a weekly basis.

Most of our sites went up a couple of PR points which is nice but we lost out on the last google SERP shuffle and haven't seen an effect from a PR update on SERPs so cant say if the PR upgrade is of much benefit. I notice G still hasn't fixed the PR on https page issue.

They worship the worthless Toolbar PR score.

PageRank on the other hand I agree is a ranking signal.

My photography directory (not the sig site) has gone from N/A to PR2 with some juice flowing to some inner pages which is a good start.

Be wary of high PR as I've heard some odd jumps from others, like pr1 to pr7 so you may need to wait a few days for the algo to settle.

You can get a site to pr3 with 10 minutes work, a spend of $50 and a wait of however many months it takes for the toolbar to update. You've not done anything to be chuffed about really. I don't mean to be cruel about that, rather just point out that you're focusing on the totally wrong thing. Unless you're selling text links that pr3 isn't going to translate into more traffic, earnings, or anything you or your customers should care about.

Yet his site still ranks behind the same companies it ranked behind last week. So he's not going to see a penny more from it than he did last week. In short its completely pointless and irrelevant.

Also the comparison is rather silly since a lot of seo companies are actively trying to game their toolbar pagerank, companies in every other niche couldn't care less...

Don't see why everyone seems to be so amazed by the PR8 SEO company.

What's the big deal? It may be higher than competitors in PR, but I can't see it ranking higher than others in the SERPs for decent terms which is all that matters (unless you're selling links to those who know no better of course).

Got a load of new PR1 sites :) N/A'ed a PR6 too :|

I wouldn't care less about my PR as long as it's ranking above the competitor.. or i were bored

people are buying pagerank, plain and simple and the process is so easy
1. buy page rank for clients
2. link from client sites to own sites
3. buy page rank for own site.
4. GOTO 1

I did some research based on discussions in this thread - if you know what I mean - and within 30 minutes I'd been offered two links, both from highly relevant pages. One for £250 (PR7) and one for $160 (PR5). I've no doubt if I spent a morning on it I'd have secured enough offers to secure a bag full of high PR links, assuming I was in the market to buy.

So for anyone who wants high PR do the following.

1. Find someone bragging about their PR
2. Analyse their links
3. Approach the link sellers and fill your boots

Hint - Some tools will filter out the links that are giving said sites their biggest bang so it's not even hard work, just costly :)
