PPC - got something wrong.

Every day I am having to increase the Max CPC on two important keywords to get them onto the front page and the next morning I find they have dropped back down to what they were previously. I do have a default adgroup max that is considerably higher than what it is devolving to every night. I've tried setting it to the max but it still drops back.
Somewhere I've made some setting but don't know what - anyone able to help will be gratefully appreciated.

Hi,
It can be because an 'automated' rule or a script.
On the left hand side you should find a menu called: 'Bulk Operations' under 'Automated Rules' or 'Scripts' you should find the answer.

If not, than you can check the History, as there is might be a third-party software doing this to you. In the main menu under 'Tools' you should find a 'Change History' menu and you can check what changed and by whom. Here you even can revert a few changes.

Checked - history simply shows "1 exact match keyword max CPC increased" being done every day for the last 9 days. No entries reducing the CPC.

I have no Automated rules or Scrips in place.

Okay, last chance. Open the campaigns's Settings page under 'All Settings' you should see a 'Bid Strategy' select 'Manual CPC'.

OK, I've done that, failing that I'll delete the two and re-insert to see what happens.

Make sure you change your bid strategy for the ad groups in question to Manual CPC otherwise AdWords will adjust your CPC as they see fit.
