Payment processor for an adult site?

Hi everyone, i'm setting up an adult paysite and there will be a monthly fee for membership. The site will basically have full nudity on it, but no porn or anything hardcore (not even adult toys). The content will be photo's and videos.

I'm not sure what what payment processor to use for this as something like Paypal is out of the question it seems.

I also need advice on things like - does the site have to be a registered business in order to get an account with a payment processor? It would belong to a single female.

What payment processors are recommended to use for this type on thing?

Cheers!

Hi

Why do you think Paypal will say no? Your content is your business really and as long as it doesn't break the law regarding 'specialist' pornography I think you will be fine.

Google checkout is good as well, the system allows a lot of different payment methods and is easy for you. It basically takes the User outside of your site to complete the transaction. Good interface too.

I dont know SAGE pay well but a lot of people rate that too.

Any advise PM me or my team.

Cheers

Rick

Lovehoney and Sextoys. co.uk (1on1) both use Paypal.
Secure Trading also process payments on a number of adult toy sites.

As long as you don't sell to minors, it's legal and not pornographic you should be OK.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate it.

I was told by a friend that Paypal dont allow anything like this so i guess they're wrong!
It would be pretty borderline pornographic though, personally i wouldn't call it porn, but i'm not sure what Paypals stance is on this... i know they're ok with most sex toys, but what about nude photo's/videos that have a glamour type theme? Think of the softer Playboy kind of stuff, thats what it would be like.

Would Paypal or Google Checkout be ok with that?

pretty borderline pornographic but not pornographic?

Of course it is, sleazy filth with an arrogance in thinking that every man on earth wants it and approves of it.

Yes, it is legal but my post is just a reminder that not everyone approves of it. As porn is literally shoved in our faces, it is easy to think there is no disapproval.

We all know your views Consistency :D

You would love the Government to ban all forms of adult entertainment. In fact, take it further, nobody to go out at all unless dressed in a burkha..men included.

You should go and live in Dubai, heaven.

PayPal pulled an account 3 years ago for gothica and non-nudity, they classed it as 'extreme' or something or other, so they suspended the account pending etc.

think CCbill are the best but you may have to start jumping through hoops to launch anything online that even involves showing ankles.

Absolutely..........:)

I don't think the government, any government ever will though.

It pays some of the taxes due and keeps a section of the nation depraved.

A number of 'naturism' sites use Paypal so if yours is just nudity, then why not present your site to them and let them be the judge?

Do not even think of using PayPal for this, you could well end up losing all your money, well any you have in there when they decide to freeze your account.

You could use CCBill, Epoch or Verotel.

Oh and for those that don't approve of adult/porn then don't view it... simples

I don't. Have no desire to.

Just because it is legal, does not make it moral or right and we have a right to oppose our objection to such businesses.

People object to other things that are legal such as door step collecting loan companies, they are a legitimate business.

Yes you can object as much as you like but don't dictate what others can or cannot view.

I have no need to grow up. Just because my views are incompatible with yours, brings no need for name calling.

What I am saying is that grown ups/adults can view any kind of material they like (if it's legal) and they can also decide not to view certain things, that is their choice.

So you can honestly say that you have never looked at a naked woman or a naked man, depending on your sexual orientation and got turned on by it... EVER????

Where have I dictated what others can and cannot view?

Search through all of my posts, read them and you will not find that I have told anyone what they can or cannot view.

It is up to the individual how depraved they want to be. They are responsible for their own actions and for their own repentance.

Yes, I think it would be great if this pornography was banned, and I am not the only one who thinks it. I think it is a horrible thing indeed and there are a lot of things that are legal and I think should be banned but I doubt very much it will be.

So you think sex should be banned?

This thread is about CC processing for adult sites but you want to turn it into some sort of crusade against "porn". You never said that either I just implied you did

Show me I said you did say that?

You said Yeah, sex is a wicked thing and......

"Yeah" as if to agree with what I said or add further to what I have said in agreement when I never did and never implied it.

A bit like religion is shoved in our faces. It's not up to you to tell the guy he doing something wrong because it does no sit well with your fictional beliefs.

Dont throw stones when you live in and egg shell :p

You know you love a bit of porn consistency.

I think all religions should be banned instead of porn as they create people like Consistency, and worse. It's a dangerous mind virus.

Anyway, very funny thread :D... i'll think i'll try out CCbill and see how that goes. Thanks to all the sane people.

If you are going to have affiliates then you could use CCBill and Epoch.

I agree with Andy, it might be worth a call to NetBanx as well as I think they cover adult content.

If any of the UK Acquirers have given you a merchant ID, I'd be happy to take a look at the site and quote.

Thanks,

Paul

Shut up you mug, he is posting about stuff he knows nothing about.
Someone wants advice about something then at least have a bit of a clue what you are talking about if you are going to reply.

Probably just wants to boost his post count so he can spam some crap with a link.
