For over a year, a friend and myself have been building a website called Payment Gateway Directory, well we finally have a working version up live now and it will be completed by the end of the week.
Payment Gateway Comparison

It compares payment gateways against each other and works out how much your paying over the odds, and shows you the full info for you to work out if you want to switch.

I have only added 2 accounts for the moment just to test it, but the accounts are correct, and we have spent the past 9 hrs testing and testing and testing the site for every conceivable input and test.

As it only has 2 accounts, i wouldn't use the filter options, as you will prob show nothing as it is a small chance of you picking the exact option that the 2 accounts have.

Just use the top 6 boxes for the moment.

The currency at the top, just choose GBP for now, as we have this working but disabled it whilst working with exchange rate feed.

The next box is "The average amount per transaction", so that's a rough guess on how much your average transaction is per sale.

There will be approx ..... transactions per month
Well if you sell 1 item day, pop 30 in here.

How much do you spend on Google AdWords per month?
The system automatically works out the Google AdWords saving from Google Checkout, and will compensate for this additional saving.

Over draft EAR rate
If you sell TVs at £1000 each, and say you sell 30 a month, that means you sell £30K turnover. But if the gateway holds onto your dosh for 30 days, you will need to have an over draft to keep your cash flow correct of £30K. So the system knows how long each gateway holds your money for and will calculate the costs into the results. Most over draft rates are between 9% and 20%.

Please i would love to hear your feedback on this, I like brutal as long as it is constructive. Remember we have had to be realistic with this, and couldn't add every conceivable option in here like insurance etc.

So we have had to compromise between functionality and usability, and i think we have a good site.

Just to confirm though, we will be adding little question marks that you hover over for extra info, and changing the way the form appears slightly, to align and look a little better.

All the best
Ian

As a user of a number of payment gateways and also (and unfortunately) a larger spender on Adwords, I will have a look at your site with great interest and report back.

Well i whilst messing around with it, i have messed up the code some how, damn annoying as it was working perfect.

We had tons of debug code displayed on the page, and when i removed it, it has changed the maths somehow :(

Watch this space ;)
