Paying someone to help

Hi All
I am an ebay seller & work from home.
A friend has offered to help for a set price, she will take my things home to get ready, Iron & Picture
It would be around £60 pr week for 10 hours
How do I go about paying her through the books?
Would her giving me a reciept be suffice?

If she is willing to work "self employed" then you can class her as an expense, her invoicing you for her time should be enough i think?

Don't take it as gospel though, i offer the above advice as a friendly gesture I would seek confirmation from an expert. I am totally self employed so its a grey area for me.

Could she not go self employed?

I am not entirely sure but you may have to make employer contributions for National Insurance etc so it may end up costing you more than £60.

I may be wrong though it's not my forte.

If you use the search function on here and have a look at some of the countless threads on the topic, you'll see that it's not a matter of whether your employee is *willing* to work as self employed or not.
