Part of the furniture...

I have just noticed that my position in UKBF has gone from 'Director' to 'Part of the furniture'.

Not sure how to take that :)

What's the next level up, or have I now peaked?

Hi Multi.
I'm the chair next to you, though I have a bit more dust on me.

I kicked the door a couple of months ago after a few dust mites irritated me, you know what I mean, they get in your grain (of wood) and really get those knots twirling.

I've been locked away since then, but have managed to creek the door open and sneek a peep at what's going on! Well, the whole board changed didn't it! And I don't mean just the format, look at all the new members. A lot of them wouldn't know the value of some of this furniture; but we know the worth of valuable antiques, don't we!!

So as Sharon (WTF is Sharon?) says, 'Take it as a compliment.' I'll stay in here for a while longer cos' some of those dust mites did long term damage to my veneer. My biggest worry though; will we be shifted to the attic?

cheers, Nigel

    My God, me too.

That's the most depressing thing I've heard all week. (And this week I've had meetings with both Ofcom and the DTI so it's quite a high hurdle.)

He he, I'm playing with the categories and I tried to pick something that is a common expression used in companies. "Part of the furniture" is the top rank used for someone who has been around for quite some time, so much so they've become part of the furniture.
These categories may change but for now I'lll let them settle down and gauge feedback. Basically, there is not so many "categories" of membership anymore and everyone is on the "same level" with just a subtitle to distinguish people based on their number of posts.

I'm working on a "rule book" and FAQ for these forums, but until anything is set in stone things may be fluid :)

So to continue the furniture theme, the moderators are the interior designers/feng shui experts (making sure the furniture is in the right place) and Ozzy is the removal guy (throwing out old furniture and bringing in new stuff)?

If I am part of the furniture, then can I have a french polish please?

So if applying polish is sometimes referred to as "giving it a lick of polish", and licking is in some cultures a form of kissing, are you asking me for a French Kiss?
