O2 Priority Moments

Hi,

Has anyone here used O2 Priority moments to advertise on? They offer free adverts (as long as you offer money off/free items, etc) and display them as offers to all O2 customers? They specifically show people results local to them.

My wife runs a Cafe and we are thinking about offering a free tea/coffee to try and contact a new bunch of customers who may not already be aware of the current marketing activities.

My question is whether anyone has tried it here already, and what type of response they had back from it? We obviously don't want queues of people wanted free drinks affecting the regular, existing, customers.

Feedback appreciated.

take samples away from the premises and hand them out, with flyers for info you cafe.

Free sample homemade soups this time of year would be good, as its easy to heat and keep stock warm and move it about, and cheap to make, plus quality homemade soup is so much better than any canned or instant.

You don't need to offer free stuff to your current customers.

Or you could put a voucher in the local paper with say a free coffee if you spend over x, or a free bun with every coffee. Making sure you have a small amount of profit or at the very least break even.

We own and run a wifi hotspot company and offer something similar to 02. Dont offer free tea or coffee on its own - try something like a free donut (buy donuts from the supermarket as a box of 10 costs £1.00) with each cup of tea of coffee at normal price.

We have a customer in the southwest who offered a free drink (runs a cafe bar) he forgot to put in any terms and conditions etc and promptly ended up losing £600 even after we told him told it was a bad idea. Always make your offer conditional on the customer having to buy something in the first place to cover the cost of giving away the freebee!

Never used O2 Priority Moments before however if it's anything like the other daily-deal providers like Groupon it might be worth avoiding.

These marketing channels rarely offer the high-quality, repeat customers merchants need to bring a return on investment.

Groupon fights for its life as daily deals fade - Reuters.

When it comes to marketing our web hosting business we have always tended towards our own internal offers.

i've literally just set up our first offer.

as an ex-corporate marketer who now co-owns an independent retailer, i'm not going into this blindly.

if those who'd posted had even looked into it before posting, they'd have been able to make more educated responses to your question. sorry, but if you've nothing postive to add, don't add anything.

you get the choice of lots of options, eg %age off, 3 for 2, spend over x and get y off, etc. you control your offer.

you can also limit the number of vouchers available, so you'll not go bankrupt like the cupcake maker! do a test of however many you want to.

you can limit when it's available down to certain days and times of day. more control.

and more...

the benefit for me is that i get to tap into O2's customer base who use priority moments.

i could spend time and money on other advertising channels but i set this up in 5 minutes and with a limited first test offer, i've got control over how much i'm prepared to budget on it.

i'd say sign up, take a look and make a decision. you can complete the entire process and still back out, so there's nothing to lose really.

you can offer free samples but i'd go for a buy something/ a certain amount, get something free. work out what you can afford and just launch 5 or 10 coupons to see what the response is.

We have used Priority Moments from 02 before but had very limited success - only 4 took the offer and only 1 redeemed dispite the offer being very reasonable.

I found the process really easy and after all it's free so its worth a go surely ?

@mang arent you b2b though? These sorts of things are best suited for B2C offerings. I think the one big issue is that there are lots of people using Voda, 3, EE so you are only getting to O2 customers.
