recent changes by google in their algorithms of ranking websites has completely changed the business of online marketing. now all tachniques of link building which were the only life line for search engine optimizers around the world are now strictly prohibited by google.
new guidline clearly indicates that
bookmarking links
website directories
and article link will have no profit for gaining short or long term success in Google serps
now content is king, and high quality good content is the only way to get slow and long time success in reaching the first of serps.
now i think onlime marketing companies need to hire more quality content writers like newspaper journalists rather than directory submitters and bookmarking or article link builders.

And you think that's good for website content? Churning out reams of padded copy is almost as bad as article spinning.

Write what you ned to write in as many words as it takes and no more. This might be 10 words or it might be 1000.

Maybe the changes will hand back content to specialist writers who really know how to inform about a specific market, reducing the faff that comes from non specialists writing what they want about a subject they know little about.

Over the past two years Google have made it plain they are far more concerned with the strength of the domain, rather than the strength of the content.

That's why the biggest publishers keep republishing content from third parties, and why small publishers have been totally squeezed out of some areas.

Is it really true?? Should we stop building links like commenting or bookmarking then??

Yes, the changes have caused a lot of problems for some websites who had followed the previous system and done very well.

Writing quality content is now the most important aspect of the new Google system although we have no idea what weighting they have placed on this aspect in their ranking system

I have always worked on the basis on writing quality articles for the websites I am involved with as part of an ongoing marketing strategy. This is now working extremely well with the new rankings.

The debate over whether anyone can write an article for a website is valid and I can see both sides of the coin here. Writing an article and spinning it may not provide additional ranking points but it may go some way to support the material on the site. Bottom line is we don't really know if it works until you test it.

Personally, i would rather write more articles, even multi-part articles because relevance is a contributory factor. The reason I would do this is to engage the reader and position myself as an expert in the particular industry. After all, being the expert is the highest positioning you can get.

I've noticed this as well as the articles that I've written place higher now in Google SERPs.

We should not stop link building but sending mass backlinks to Google is also not an option. Remember, be as human as possible when building links.

I think what is interesting from reading this entire string is that despite Google's extremely clear guidelines (build the best user experience site you can) the rest of the web industry seems unable to agree on what exactly that may be. I appreciate that everyone has their own agenda (development, seo, content, social etc etc) but this is where our industry manages to damage its own image - much like squabbling politicians. As a copywriter I have seen the journalist/PR writer v copywriter tension time and time again. I have also seen eye wateringly dull debates about ideal copy length on a page and keyword density. The reality is that if the subject matter is good, well structured, useful, has a goal and works with natural bail-out/call to action opportunities, people will read it and jump off at a point that suits them. Search engines will recognise credible subject matter that is well researched and relevant. Plenty of content gives people the chance to roll their sleeves up and take a comfortable stroll through a website, blog... whatever. The key issue that I have mentioned here is that of "credibility". You get that right and the other stuff falls into place without the need for arguing over "my bit is more important and lucrative than yours".

One of the more important elements of content writing is to make sure one has plenty of line breaks as large blocks of text are difficult to read on a screen.:p
