New website advise

I would appreciate any comments & advice on the following site I'm creating.

I'm using "NetObjects Fusion, 7" as I don't have a clue regarding html or coding, therefore I think I'm more concerned about the layout & design.

I'll just make some small suggestions

1) Don't justify the font. Have it left, or center.
2) The "labels", "confetti" etc are hard to read, and don't stand out very well
3) You accept cards, yet I can only find a payment form to pay
4) Rid of the counter. Unless you happen to have millions of visitors
5) Remove the "this site is best removed in". Even if true, it looks unprofessional
6) Try and work more colours in there

(Which font?, all the fonts are left or centred, or at least that's what was intended)

(Rather than change the colours, would you recommend I remove the background shading or maybe place the labels in a box like the C/C logos)

3) You accept cards, yet I can only find a payment form to pay
(Yes at the moment I can only accept CNP payments over the phone by& manually entering the details into a PDQ, but I would prefer orders to be confirmed in writing, hence the order form. at some stage I would also like to add an e-commerce facility, but I'm assuming it would be expensive, and I'm not sure how to incorporate it)

I'd disagree with working more colours in. Stick to a palette of two, maybe three colours overall on the site and let the products stand out and sell themselves.

2 + 6) I'm not a web designer. I can tell you what looks good, what works and and what to change based on my work, but doing it is where the designers come in and offer advice.

I think there's no harm in you using tables, especially if that's all you kno, I would just alter how wide they are and their backgrounds colours.

I would suggest you save yourself a lot of time on the 'web design' learning curve and get hold of a simple shopping cart.

http://oscommerce.com provide a free cart and you should find yourself someone to install it for a few quid, then all you have to worry about is adding your stuff in the backend through the admin interface.

I think your time would be better served learning to use oscommerce than diving into html and design.

I've made a few changes, but I realise I still have a lot to do.

Gary. I'm interested in adding a shopping cart facility (oscommerce or whatever) would this be an addition or replacement of the site I'm creating.

You could add it to your site by installing in a sub-directory, however as the main reason for your site is to sell then I would suggest using it to replace your present site, it would give you a nice format and easy to control web presence.
