Im looking for a new laptop - ideally Windows 7.

I dont really want to spend too much more than £350 as its mostly just for email/outlook and some mortgage software - nothing too intensive.

BUT I do occasionally waste a few hours on football manager and the requirements for that are:
OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8
Processor: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core, AMD Athlon - 2.2GHz+
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Ultra, ATI Radeon 9800, Intel GMA X3100 - 128MB VRAM

Can anyone recommend anything thats up to the job and pretty decent build quality. My last 2 laptops have been HP and both have been pretty good.

Have a look at budget laptops from Lenovo.

Also, if you want more for your money, then go to the official Dell Outlet Store where you'll find reconditioned laptops (and some new ones to) that offer much better specs for a given price.

Plus as others have said, Windows 10 is along really soon.

I was debating holding off for W10, but my laptop makes funny noises.
I dont fancy learning how t use 8 for the sake of a few months so will try and find something with 7.

There is an option in Windows 8.1 to make it look and function like Windows 7. If you are going to play with the bare minimum requirements, you are not going to like it. With that I may suggest this.

HP Pavilion 15-p142na Quad Core AMD A8-6410 8GB 1TB DVDSM AMD Radeon R7 M260 2GB 15.6 inch Windows 8.1 Laptop in Red & Black - K1R56EA

You don't like the Windows 8 version maybe you could ask if they have a Windows 7 one. Can't post links yet so I just copied the specs and model no.

You'll be hard pressed to beat better value then the Lenovo Yoga 3 at the moment. £495 on Amazon. only 11in very tidy little lappy. But HP are also decent if you can figure out the real specs from the custom jobs they do for their resellers.
