hi all
I don't know if anyone subscribes to the digital photo magazine

but in this months issue there was a very interesting video on adding neon effects to your pictures. I decided it might look nice if i added the idea to my website. Added the neon effect to the lettering for example.

This i did in photoshop and it shows up nicely, however when i uploaded this to my website, the neon effects i had taken hours to ad did not show.

Has anyone hot any ideas as to why?

Did you flatten the image after you added the effects? My web software hates layers in images.

Oh yes i flatten the images, they are also in png format

One of my clients is a Neon Sign manufacturer/supplier. A few years ago when I set his website up I wanted to create some graphical representations of his signs. All the signs in this catalogue (except the two menu boards) I created. I tried several techniques before I got a result I was happy with. In the end I designed and rendered them using Caligari's Truespace. The logos on the top of the page were also done using the same technique. There where many more of these images on this site but unfortunately the way the Neon trade has gone lately he now makes more money selling the neon phones and clocks than he does on traditional signs.

ps ImageMan you have some great works on your site. I would love to spend more time doing 3D myself.

Has anyone hot any ideas as to why?

Try saving the image in the .jpeg or .jpg format. This is for photographs and images with a lot of gradation. The .gif and .png formats are for line and spot images, and are designed to save space.
