As title really,

We currently have a Prestashop shop, I’m disappointed with it to say the least, we have had nothing but problems with it, it’s now costing us sales.

I have never used a magneto site, so have no clue how it works, I like the way Prestashop back office works, being able to add products etc s very easy, How does magneto compare?

So we are looking at getting a site made for us, if we can, something that has easy additions, easy back office etc.

I have no idea of how to go about finding a devloper/designer that can do this.

Hi Johnny,

I understand prestashop can be annoying, but it is very resourceful and is a great platform for ecommerce when configured properly.

I can design and develop you a full ecommerce store if you wish, myself and my team have various knowledge and skills from design and deployment through to choosing the most suitable integrated payment process.

If this is something we can help you with please let me know, we are very affordable and I'm certain we'll be able to work something to fit whatever your budget may be.

Please feel free to contact me through PM and we can work something out.

I hope this helps,

Sam

Prestashop is a very good offering so I would assume it was more down to your original developer. Likewise, magento is well thought of as well.

If you are generally happy with Prestashop then salvaging your current site might be an option if there are obvious things wrong with. Conversion on sales might be a totally seperate issue to whether it is prestashop or magento.

May I ask what problems you have had with prestashop? I'm in the process of setting up a prestashop shop and haven't had too many problems.

I have found formatting the layout and on site SEO to be difficult.

Just so I know what to expect.. :)

I have just found the whole thing a pain, we setup, with one version, a few weeks later a new version has come out, we have tried and failed to install the newone correectly, causing problems with our Paypal intergration :(

Formatting and layout as you have seen are a PITA, I'm no designer but I know how I want it to look, but I can't seem to get there!

Generally just not happy with some of the feature, I know what I want to do better, but being limited by what can be achieved in the shop, unless you are prepared to spen hours trying to get an anwser on their forums and then spend hours trying and often failing to adjust the code.

As posted previously, we are quite happy to help with the complete customisation of your store template.

We can rectify your problems easily and simply, if you already know what you want the site to look like we can work to create that for you.

Please let me know if we can help you achieve this.

I used to rate Prestashop as a lighter weight alternative to Magento but have recently totally fallen out with it, there are some crazy things happening in the code that make it excessively bug prone.

We are now recommending people for whom Magento is too much to look at Open Cart or Tomato Cart.

Its really great that you are moving to online business. It reduces yr time and effort.
The are many company in India who are designing the e-commerce website in very cheap rate.
I think better to contact in India for designing your e-commerce website.

Looks great. Just so you know from a SEO point of view you need to setup your canonical redirect. ie. when you type in aquariumplantfood.co.uk it should redirect to www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk

If you need any other advice on SEO for your site PM me.

no not at the moment.

if you type in just the domain ie http://domain.com it doesn't redirect to http://www.domain.com

You need to put this at the end of you .htaccess file:

Code:
# Canonical redirect to www
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^aquariumplantfood.co.uk [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/$1 [L,R=301]
