Hi folks,

When I last ran a company back in 2010 this didn't exist and understand it came in 2006. It has been almost 1 year since I started my ltd company and this is now almost due.

The reason for this post is that I find conflicting info online as to what exactly this is. Is it just to confirm my company details? Is it my annual return?

I use Quickfile to do my accounts and there is a notice on the pinboard which says "! Your Confirmation Statement is due in 4 days - file now". When I click the link, it says "Your Confirmation Statement is due on 26 June 2023. QuickFile can complete and file this Confirmation Statement on your behalf for £24.99 + vat."

I'm not sure what they will do for the £24.99 plus VAT but I guess this will tie in with the questions I asked above.

Thanks for reading and any help is really appreciated.

Hi folks,

I have a bit of an issue.

I got an email from Companies house requesting

"You must file your confirmation statement by 26/06/2024."

I click the link to do this. It now says the fee is £34 (why so much?)

Then I go to log in and it says:

"You cannot use your WebFiling details to sign in. You must sign in to or register a Companies House account."

Ermmm....okay.....I used the same last time so why the 2 accounts now, confused, so I try sign up a new account as my Web filing one is the only one I have.

It says "
An activation email has been sent to xxxxxx@gmail.com.

Select the link in the email to verify the email address and activate your account.

The link must be used within 24 hours or it will expire and you will need to register again."

I never get a link.

I wondering what should I do now?

Thanks for the replies.

No, I replaced it with x's.

Yes, I checked junk/spam.

Thinking about this a bit more, the issue I'm having is that last time I used the same login for everything, at least that's what I remember. Now they are saying I need another login or perhaps I have another account for companies house.

I have emailed them to ask for help, I have time so hopefully they can point me in the right direction.

I received a reply from Companies House:

"Confirmation statement due by: June 26th 2024.

To use the “ New File a confirmation statement Service”, you will need to create a Companies House account, which is different to a Web-Filing account.

It may just be easier for you to sign into your Web-filing account as normal and submit the statement using the older service. That way, you won’t be prompted to create a Companies House account.

As a temporary measure, you can use this link to sign straight into Web-filing, which you will most likely recognise:
Companies House - Sign in"

Seems they have made a new service to do this, I betting (because I get no error) it requires a different email to sign up, that's why it doesn't send me a sign up link.

I can't use the old service due "cookies not being enabled" message despite them being activated.

I have emailed them back with screenshots. The saga continues.

Companies House are actually generally very helpful and they will probably be able to help if you call them.

I am not aware that you'd need to use a different email address.

I finally got a sign up link, it took hours for some reason but at least it came in the end and yes, I didn't need a different email.

Wow! That's almost triple the price for me filling out a online form that took 2 minutes. At least I know that money that I actually had to work and produce something of value for will be well spent by them 😂

It was correct when he posted it - you've dredged up a thread that's almost a year old. The £13 fee hadn't been round for ever - it used to be £32 but was reduced for some reason.

It doesn't relate solely to this form - it's there to cover the costs of running Companies House as a whole, including the information available, and the expectation is that in future CH will be more proactive in following up on duff information filed

Yes, I know, it's a post from earlier in this thread which I started. I was pointing out how it was funny he was complaining when it was £13. Maybe I should have been more clear.
Anyway it's all sorted now and thanks again for the help everyone.
