Is it a self hosted shop or are you using a shop builder service?

If self hosted most decent host will migrate the site for you for a small fee. Some will do it as part of the service.

But everything depends on what type of hosting and shop platform you currently have.

Currently with EKM, I recently upgraded to their Advanced level and experienced severe difficulties with my allocated EXPERT who made huge mistakes and errors. I have reverted to the standard package. EKM will not acknowledge any proof of errors or refund the 3 months extra fees. The email trail is huge and proves they are at fault. I want to move, I've looked at alternatives possibly chosen Ionos, I understand moving the domains but not sure about the rest of it. Do I just save the products on excel and load them into a new template, update all the other information or does it work a different way. Does all the current back office information automatically get moved, I could do with some help because this is obviously a big change and needs to be done right.

You can't move to a new host. All you can do is export your catalogue and maybe the selling records but if you want to use a different host you will need to start all over again with a different ecommerce platform.

Which means a load load of configuration, setting up, testing, learning, importing and possibly custom coding.

Which also mean any SEO work you have done will be null and void.

It's all possible but it's not quick, simple or cheap.

And avoid Ionos - they are at bottom of the cheap hosting barrel.

You can’t move your site to a new host.

What you will need to do is build a whole new site. Who hosts the site is pretty much irrelevant.

A quick search shows that migration to another platform is possible, but there will probably be some sacrifices, like SEO (as mentioned), history, etc.

EKM hosts your store. You can’t self host and EKM store. Which means you need to build a whole new site and then import whatever data you can extract from EKM.

I haven't seen how EKM host their stores but it might be possible scrape the front end stuff. You'll probably lose the admin history unless they offer something in CSV/JSON/XML etc or you let someone try and scrape your admin panel as well.

But it will be time consuming and reasonably expensive.

Scraping will only get you data. It won’t get you a website or the shop. You still need to build this.
