more segmentation of topics required?

Hi all,

OK, I've had a chat with the moderators about the new forum area and, building on RayB's suggestion, one proposed the name:

"SEO, PPC and Online Marketing"

To be honest, the name can change in future if need be, but I guess it's more important to get it up there and get some discussion going.

So, if there's no significant unease with this, we can have it ready and live next Tuesday afternoon (after the very welcome Bank Holiday!).

Cheers for now,
Darren

I'm afraid it's true, I won't be working!!

RayB - yep, that is something we have to look into. We can gradually move threads over as we stumble upon them, but there's absolutely loads of 'em, and they're scattered around the General, E-Commerce, Marketing and IT forums.

I'm hoping that we can find a more automated solution, doing something swish with the database - but no promises until we've looked into it!

Cheers,
Darren

Why not make use of one of the most excellent features of VBulletin? Sub Forums!

Rather than having the layout on a flat hierarchy, lets get some depth into the forums.

Marketing and PR could then have the sub-forums:
SEO
Press Releases
Mail Shots
Other Marketing

Or something like that, with posts being made direct to the Markting and PR forum if a post doesn't fit within the sub-category.

Just an idea.

That sounds like a great idea. Is it possible if we all ask nicely mods?

So, all this talk of segmentation of topics is brilliant in order to get your question in the right place ... but hell when I log on, I hit the new posts button, and read the threads I am part of or that I feel I can answer, or just ones that tickle my interest ...

So all this wonderful talk about new topics etc, will for me and the others who use this facility ... will be a wonderful waste!
