Misleading "earn 100k a year" on youtube

Hi guys,

Recently I came across, and believed, a very long instructional on how to earn loads of dosh dropshipping t shirts via shopify/amazon. After realising it's a load of tosh I then came across a plethora of other videos such as "How To Build A Six Figure Shopify Business In 2017" which basically instructs the listener to find a niche, create a shopify store, and dropship from aliexpress whilst gaining orders through targeted facebook ads. There are many of these videos on youtube and many guys producing them, all of them have thousands of followers and comments. What I've noticed is with nearly all of them, one requirement is to install and pay for an app which they have developed, and it seems thousands of people, including me, fall for the sales chat and take the plunge.

I don't know why but after having a think about it all, I'm left annoyed. I think these guys are taking advantage of desperate and gullible people and it's ridiculous how well they seem to be doing. Anyways, I felt I needed to share my feelings with you guys however pointless it may be!

Yours,
A disgruntled dream chaser :(

    im more ashamed that I fell for it, I mean come on, who wouldn't want to earn 6 figures selling T shirts with pictures of dogs on ;)

    There's an app you can download that flags up all these get rich schemes and scams.

    Every time you come across one you click a button and 50c is added to your account.

    It only costs $4 dollars to download but you can soon recoup that and start earning big money.

    I'll see if I can find you a link for it.

    Consider yourself lucky that you realised. Think how many thousands of people are still fooled by this BS.

    Since I research lots on topic of business, then I get spammed with this kind of content all the time. Once I even took the free webinar just to see what they are talking about, didn’t make to the end.

    Just answer yourself simple question (I do it all the time). If this person is so successful and is making so much money, why he makes videos and put so much effort to be such a “philanthropy”? Most off all why he pays for this video to be seen?

    I sold a bed on ebay for £19.99. Add £25 for delivery and that's 6 figures right there.

    There are also countless course/guides just like this, that teach you to create these exact courses!

    About a decade ago it was quite popular to just take white label content, repackage it and use it exactly like this. Interestingly, the guide you describe has very little variance on the make money courses that have been going around for years. Import/dropship products, wee website, PPC ads.

    The problem is these guys are actually getting the monthly sales they claim. This is possible with most businesses however, what they don't point out is the bottom line i.e. profit. I have said this 100s of times - I can generate a 100k revenue in one week - but the amount of work required and the return I would have is just not worth the effort. It's working harder not smarter.

    Haha this gets my goat too. I sell on Amazon (my own brand) and there's a Facebook Amazon FBA and there's one guy on there doing the same thing posting every day about how amazing his "system" is and putting up picture of his sales and what not, but the margins are all tiny, I remember one post one of his disciples had put up and it was £1,500 sales in a day, when I asked what the profit margin was it was 10%. Could have gone to work and earnt that (and I guarantee he hadn't even considered VAT or CT).

    Yea they advertise a 6 figure turnover and when they get to the product bit the margins like 4USD! The ones I looked at were t-shirts, they provide the whole journey from shopify startup to Porsche driving Dreamland, all from 4usd per shirt profit then there's the "find your nich (as Americans pronounce) and Target ads on Facebook to french bulldog owners and you're earning a 6 figure salary", there's groups on Facebook with literally thousands of people falling for this load of crap asking why there not making sales of their cool AliExpress star wars watches on Amazon!

    The internet marketing world is a place I used to inhabit when I worked in e-commerce.
    You'll find the same get-rich quick schemes in all kinds of niches - people promising high profits for little work.
    Here's the thing;
    If someone's doing six figures a year (or even 5 for that matter) with a successful online business why would they;
    a. tell anyone else about it
    b. really be bothered to put together a lengthy course of videos/e-book/website

    Like I say, it is possible to bag a six figure income via an online business, *but* I doubt it's possible to do this by doing what everyone else is doing (dropshipping)...what you need is a brand (ideally your own) to sell, & if not your own, a brand that will stand behind you (give you territorial exclusivity).....not easy nowadays (it was a bit easier to bag this when ecommerce was younger). Even if you do get a brand, it'll likely take a few years to snowball to get you the six figure income. (& will involve you working stupid o clock hours to get there too)

    For a brand to stand behind you...you need to get them sales (pretty darned quick!) & they (the brand) need to assured that you're 100% trustworthy ..else they'll go elsewhere (getting their trust is difficult...in my situation, the trust it comes from having been in partnership with them for several years....they know they'll *always* get paid when I say they will, they know I have only their brand in mind when I make decisions...but a level of trust can come - in part - from other ways ....e.g. glowing 100% feedback on Ebay/Amazon extending back years)

    Do I believe that you can attend a course like this & come away with half a chance of achieving a six figure income - no, no I don't (nor do I think you can become a millionaire with other get rich quick schemes....such as Buy To Let nowadays). Do I believe you can become a millionaire telling others how they might be able to do it? - erhm, yes I do (Timothy Ferriss 4hr working week is a great example)...hence the plethora of courses like these.
