As most of us here start to wind up for the festive holidays today it reminded me I haven't done an update for nearly two months on here. I'll still be working next week, we've got so many things happening and starting to come together.
The membership changes I mentioned in the last update have now been completed, and as far as I'm aware only one person got missed with the upgrade and @Ethan39 has sorted them out. That means the old Sift PayPal account is finally closed and all confusion that came with it behind us.
Some many things were planned for this year but technical delays, FCA registration delays, and simply running out of time mean we are carrying over a bunch of stuff to the New Year. One of the main things is the comparison service, we started to roll this out only to find we needed to be FCA registered as many members here are Sole Traders so we had to pull it again until the registration was in place. We're still waiting but hope to have that sorted in January, and once that comes through we can start rolling that service back out again.
We have a few things planned in January I'd like to share.
The first is our second podcast is launching which is hosted by my colleague and partner in crime in our social media skits, @JCBrown. This new podcast is called GROW, keep an eye on our socials and weekly newsletter to see when the first episode gets released. It's going to be a cracker! (see what I did there ?)
We've got one hell of a guest speaker at UKBF London in January too. If you'd like to hear the story of a business owner who started a security company, got into personal protection and then lost £1M of other peoples money in a diamond deal that went horribly wrong, then book onto UKBF London as spaces are limited. As crazy as it sounds, but we're outgrowing the current venue for UKBF London after having only recently moved for outgrowing the last place.
If you haven't see already, we run regular fortnightly webinars covering a huge array of subjects from finance, marketing and so much more. We're all scheduled up to June already with some great topics being covered, and our webinars are live streamed to our channels on YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and even TikTok. Follow us on your chosen platform to get notified when we go live or register to be notified by email on our Event Brite page here.
One of the other big projects being worked on is the member benefits for Business Membership, which includes a resource library of business tools including items such as a template Shareholders Agreement and employee contract templates. We're also looking business services, such as telecoms services offered by one of the long standing members here and banking services too. This is likely to be towards the middle of the year, but it's all starting to come together behind the scenes.
