Merging PDF files

I can print my invoices to PDF using CutePDF or similar.
I have our letterhead on a PDF file.

How can I print onto a letterhead on PDF?
PDF Suite will combine the two, over 2 pages (I want the two on one page, just like if I was to print onto a paper letterhead).

PDF995 will merge them, but the pciture quality on the letterhead is severely degraded.

Surely there must be a good solution somewhere? Any idea?

I didn't know I could. Both source files are .pdf (invoice printed direct from accounting package; pdf letterhead has no margins so didn't think this would be word compatible?

It took me AGES to find this one when I was looking some time ago - I am assuming you want to send letters to clients on your letterhead. Anyway here's what you need -

It easily combines a PDF or other document with a PDF letterhead to create one combined PDF.

Oops! Should have read the oringal post a little better. You can overlay two PDFs with a command line tool (there doesn't seem to be a free graphical alternative)

Adobe Acrobat should do that but I'm not sure of the cost.

I guess the other option would be to export your letterhead PDF as an image at A4 size, and then let Word (or other WP software) use it as a background on the page.

From there, you can save (I would think) the invoice document as a PDF that would effectively have both layers.

Just to update the thread, I did the following:

Abobe Photoshop Elements - save pdf letterhead as a hi-res JPG
Use JPG as logo in Quickbooks invoice template designer, sized to full page
Print to pdf from QB

Job's a good'un!

I don't know how I didn't manage to make that work before - I know it's something I played about with before.

No, you'd need something like (as Jenni says) Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, open the PDF in one of those, save as hi-res JPG.
