Er ok but then why mention it at all then. I mean just in case someone actually does want to make a booking there and then. I mean there might even be a danger of you making a profit from it.

I think the idea is good Will...but you need to work on the format.

Written and presented like that, it really does both look and sound cheap and nasty.

Put together a better package, some info and photos of some of your lettings - explain who you are, and you may get some takers.

If they turn up, what are you going to be offering by way of presentation/talk.

They will get up go straight back out, if it does not come across as professional.

Have you got some film footage of your holidays apartments etc etc, along with brochures to hand to people.

That is a start Will!

What about testimonials along with photos from satisfied clients (holidaymakers that is):D

Will you have someone else to do the presentation!

How about charging everyone £££ (whatever the cost involved) and do the presentation in one of your holidays Villas.

How much to charter an Easyjet plane for a weekend?;)

Yeh, daft idea I know.

You say you are undecided between a business card and an A% leaflet: surely the obvious choice for a Holiday sell is an A6 postcard.

Nice picture, "Wish you were here" strapline, sales message in a handwriting font on the back:

Just a thought.

ARE YOU CRAZY? I would never go with a stranger in a random coffe place to discuss my holiday and stuff.:D What am I supposed to say I want to go somewhere where they are no women to chase me

Dawg's idea is more like it but in answer to the original question, No I wouldn't answer.

I think now with the choice of doing your own thing on the intertwaddle through to calling into Lunn Poly as the standard travel agent on the high street. The question is, why would I meet a stranger in a coffee shop to talk holidays?

Just my 2 cents Will but i would not go with an A5 brochure (flyer).

Maybe more of an A4,trifold jobby,as they can look quite professional if done correctly.

Also,on good quality paper they can be self supporting/free standing, unlike the A5 which either has to placed in a holder,or laid in a pile, which can look messy.

Dawg has the right idea tho, postcards would be an ideal compliment to the trifold`s.

What about the same idea basically but with a mock up beach in a shopping centre...you know like that ad, with the fluffy clouds and some fake sand...You are invited to a day at the beach... free 99 for every smiling happy holiday face that shows.

I would perhaps make an effort for that...not I think for a meeting in a coffee shop, it smacks a bit of peadophiles and very bad dates :D Individual people, single women might be very put off.

And giving away free 99's isn't designed to attact kids!!!!! ;-) Don't try that in Portsmouth, they were bad enough when they found a paediatrician!!!!

Actually that seems like a better idea.

Will, what sort of client do you go for? I can see a demand for an exclusive travel agent to get away from the riff raff, I can also see the attraction for those on a low income who may pay into a holiday club to get a cheap holiday but my point before is surely, unless you have a niche (like Adventure) most people can look online or use a traditional travel agent.

Lol at the duke.

Not sure what you do OP so don't understand that post about competition.

Actually peeps on low income ( I know a few) go with the Sun newspaper holiday thang.

Question...where do people think most about when/where to holiday?

Is it
At the desk at work (internet has it covered)
At a nice high end restaurant after a few sherbets
At the weekends at home
Walking around town doing their shop

I dunno?

OK, I'll take your word for the USP, the point is, in your flyer, postcard or even shopping precinct mock up, you need to get that USP over to the potential customer.

In the threads we've exchanged on, despite being holiday related, I've not understood your USP, so if I've not got it in a 20 post cyberspace conversation, I'd ask, how are you going to get that message over in your postcard sized invitation to coffee or any other suggestion.

There's def a dissertation in their somewhere...but more likely the big boys know the answer and have done for some time.

Women buy backed up with lots of information
Men buy if they are practically offered the solution up front.
Both sexes buy emotionally on some level...the amount of people who flock (geddit) to my sisters farm shop cos of the Happy Hens beggers belief. Although they do look quite perky.

OK, Whilst you have put that on your post, I really didn't see what is so great about it. The bit that makes it interesting is that your customer as a couple can take their couple of benefit accruers on holiday for £224 per week even in the middle of the school holidays.

Obviously, this is less of a draw to a couple who can holiday any time of the year and perhaps get better deals.

I'd say a combination of the post-card flyer and beach mock up in a shopping pricinct spelling out the price advantage would be a good one.

The coffee idea is a no no, it'll take too long to get people, most will think you are weird and you have more chance of getting laid with a bored mother than selling a holiday.

Ooooooooooh Will, them immortal words " Subject To Availability ".

I cringe whenever i hear them,in whatever context they are used in

They usually mean something along the lines of :-

"Only available in the Southern Hemisphere,in December, only on a Tuesday,if Aquarius is rising in Uranus and there is a breeze coming out of the East, and the Barometer is below 2310" or some such nonsense.
