Matchmaker Marketing...who are they? help!

I've just spent a fair amount of time reading these posts and have to reply. I sadly worked for this company for a month, well under the "Zenith Media" part (Which was the Office split in half, one side was Matchmaker and the other was Zenith!) in the Manchester offices.

The Managers have less than 6 months experience (yet they will tell you they have been there for years) One manager even used to fake calls and appear to make sales just to "show us how its done" which to me is very childish and time wasting. There is nothing genuine about these companies at all! They are not and never were affiliated with Google and the spiel they tell you to reel off to the customers is just shocking! I quit once I found out how much of a con it was, I cannot lie to people face to face or on the phone so gave it up (And never recieved my last week of pay) They also keep moving offices around, I know it has changed at least twice because people have complained to Trading Standards!!

These phony companies need to be shut down if you ask me! How they can get away with it is beyond me!... I remember on one occasion I was told to sit with a Yellow Pages in front of me and call every number! Absolutely rediculous!!!

Hi, i signed up with Matchmaker last year and it was one of worst dicision ever made. We have had no results from the work they have surposed to have done, and we have tried to cancel our account with them by email, faxing and posting but they will not close the account and keep taking money from our card. We are now contacting the police and reporting them for fraud. We will let you all now the outcome, but stay well clear of this so called company they are just a con.

It actually very simple to get number 1 position for printers in the Worcestershire. I would also guarantee this.

If you do a search for "printers in the Worcestershire" in google with the brackets enclosed, there are only 2 result, and the competition does not have any backlinks.

The thing is, you'll be lucky if that keyphrase gets searched even once a month and for £140 i would tell them to F OFF.

There are cheaper business directories you can go to for this.

Hi had a call from Dave Bracey today, who is owner of matchmakermarketing.co.uk. He saw my thread on UKBF about his company (Hi Dave if you are seeing this)

Dave apologised for the sales person who annoyed me a lot and assured me they only use adwords only in attempts to improve rankings and never promise number 1 positions via optimisation etc. The guy who promised me the number 1 spot in Worcestershire obviously needs his hands slapped...just cant remember what his name is. Would have been annoyed if I had signed up.

Cheers

James

Hi James,

The name of the owner is Janson Colclough and he has 2 depts. in Spain too.

Very rude aggressive tactics!

They told me they were working in conjunction with the Federation of Small Businesses. We are not members of the FSB!

I told them we would not be interested in there services. (We are already the top of google for our keyword and already do our own advertising on yahoo)

They replied "What are you not interested in? Getting Business? Then we will go to your biggest competitor."

They blackmail / threaten people into using there services. It is them that are desperate for business. Do not use them!

They get no traffic to their sites, couldn't find them on google, if they were so good they would be at the top of Google themselves.

These companies as far as I can tell are the same company! We signed a contract with Matchmaker marketing who went into liquidation and then received a call from Presicion stating our contract was with them!

Is this even possible with out signing an new contract? I told them no way i'm cancelling our DD and they advised thats fine.

This was a con, as we then got iinvoiced for several months after this date.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

Threads like this really fustrate me. Its true Matchmaker and dot.com Chroogle, Google first ETC etc are actually aweful companys its nothing
to do with the process its the companys they have a horrific way of going about things with absolutly no
considerations for thier company and came in this buisness mseeing that they could make alot of moneyby ripping
people off. So rather than seeing the benefit of profit in the long run theyre scamming people, Now I work for
a similar company (not going to name names) yet we are accredited by facebook and google and we are OFCOM regulated
Now I work extremely hard to provide the best service I can and its companys like matchmaker that make it hard
for an honest person to do my job properly. I dont need to automatically take the money in the second month
without permission I actually provide the service ive offered and increase web presence and ROI cant these sh*te companys get shut down? :(

Hi worked for this company...last year. Left after 3 days. Awful management in my opinion, cheap headsets slow internet connection but money was reasonably good.

They have changed there name though , I don't think they trade under matchmaker marketing any more.

As I joined they where changing there name.

To say they where in the business of S.E.O., they were not on the top ten spaces on google.

Don`t want to put them on here, might get myself in court or something. If you PM me I can tell you new registered name ,

They are/where base in Manchester on princess street. opposite the armed-forces recruitment.

The only people that could get you at the top listing of google is probably google themselves .

Don`t believe the hype!!!!!

Just had a call from an annoying sales person who wouldnt get off the phone...suppose I was too polite to hang up.

He was going on about guarenteeing me top position on google for printers in the Worcestershire area.

Told me to try it for 30 days and then was pressing for my details so he could charge me £140 for the month! and then £20 per keyword phrase after that

Anyone know who they are and what they do?

:|

Thanks

James

Hi I had the same back in 2007 I took them up on there offer and found they were great and did just what they said they would they kept me on the top 3 of google. I just wish they were around today as it was a cheaper way of making sure you at number 1 on google. I see now people slagging them but my experience was great.

Don't touch them. The whole thing is a scam. They run a standard google adwords campaign for you that costs them a few pounds a month and you will get very little traffic and charge you 100 times more than it costs.

There is no such thing as unlimited clicks (that they will promise) - ask google.

Google have investigated them and they had to pay back £30,000. The police have investigated them and arrested the directors for fraud. Their last company went into liquidation.

Google "Jamie McDougall" if you want to know more....
