At present, people talk about the 4.0 era. So what do you think 2018 marketing trend will be?
    Can you discuss it?

What people are talking? What is 4.0? Why will the trends in 2018 be any different to 2017?

Marketing 4.0 means connecting the tasks of classical marketing with today’s digital possibilities. Marketing is the most creative and innovative. Not the same at all times. Therefore, I think marketing 2018 will focus more on the total harmony of digital technologies such as: Embracing Insight-Driven Marketing, Integration of Mobile, Increasing Focus on ROI, Customization and Personalization, Expanding Use of Content Marketing, Moving Social Media Mainstream, .... uses best digital marketing marketing tools. Marketing also needs to understand the market trends in order to come up with a plan that fits with the customer psychology. That's why 2018 marketing will be much different from 2017. That is my opinion

That list could have been written any time in the last 5 years and excluding the digital and social elements that list could be 30 years old. Why is it so revolutionary in 2018.

The above list may have been written 5-7 years ago. However, detailed analysis, it will be more innovation. It can not be said that this year's trend will be exactly the same as that of 5 or 10 years ago. Still, it's such a category. The example of viral marketing you might have known 10 years ago, but in my country, it exploded 1.2 years ago. And each year, how to make viral different.

The core marketing methods haven't changed. There are some new tools you can use but the methods are still the same. 2018 will not be that much different to 2008.

2018 will see an increase in video content consumption, due to the decreasing attention span of consumers and the over saturation of content on the web, brands need to provide extra value with way more creative videos (like short cinematic type videos). A.I is making an introduction via bots and also social media is catching up with search engines as a trusted source to search for answers, information and products.

They have been saying this for years. I agree there is far more video but most of it is for entertainment. The rest is dominated with poorly produced B2C and B2B guff.

My suspicion is that in 2018 Marketing will be even more acutely assessed in terms of its contribution to sales.

I certainly hope so. I think this has been missing from marketing for too many years as companies have put time, effort and money into new channels without looking at their effectiveness.

Then maybe provide some examples on how it's going to become more popular in 2018.

The way I look at marketing is the process around creating awareness about a brand & appealing customers to purchase your product. The process remains the same but the tools used have changed and so one has to look into different tools when thinking about a marketing strategy.

Glad somebody else hit that nail on the head. An acquaintance of mine coined the phrase "webcam licking" to describe the majority of such video traffic. - It works only for conspiracy theorists and snake-oil sellers.

You're obviously unaware (or trying to deflect attention from) the inconvenient fact that so-called 'social' media is often viewed as toxic... i.e. Business owners becoming concerned with their business being associated with 'fake news', hate speech, conspiracy trash and infantilisation. - Likewise 'Email Marketing' is just, at the end of the day SPAM! Which again can be fairly toxic.

Strangely enough, I expect to be seeing some examples of this very soon from a certain quarter.

Social media is generally a poor marketing platform. For some B2C products and services advertising can work well but for the rest the ROI is very poor. Many big names are catting back their SM marketing spend and many small business see little return for their investment.

Email marketing will be severely curtailed in a couple of months once GDRP comes into force.

Marketing trend in 2018 is still content marketing and a well executed campaign can possibly delivers solid ROI as well as more than 50% cost less.

Have no clue what you mean by the last few words there.

Overall so far the marketing trends in 2018 appear to be exactly the same as in 2017. And 2016. Probably earlier too.
