    Hello Everyone

    Ok so I have finally got the site up and running looks nice, all the links are working, I also added a blog think that'll rake in more traffic? Im still brainstorming about making things better and how I can optimize it for search engines i added a meta tag is that enough?

    a couple of bots came by:

    Search engine optimisation can be a long and very frustrating process. Unfortunately although meta tags should be used there are lots and lots of things to try (each with a varying degree of success)

    1. Ask related sites to link to your website. If you can manage to get them to link to you (without you doing the same for them) it will work more in your favour.

    2. Update content reguarly (study shows this to be more relevant to MSN and Yahoo than Google though)

    3. Your blog will help keep content fresh (which in turn can help position) - but a blog puts more of a personal touch to a virtual platform.

    4. See if you can gain editorial coverage in related popular websites. Write some articles on your topic - something eye catching and new. At the worst scenario you can submit this to article directories (helps with MSN ranking)

    5. Visit my own blog - http://searchengineoptimisation.blogspot.com :) (hasn't been updated in a while though - been a little too busy!)

    Hiya Nic,

    Meta tags are places where a description of your site - and the keywords relating to your website are placed (directly in the coding of your website).

    They are little used by search engines nowadays because they are so open to abuse.

    ......and yes you do have them! :)

    ... However, the meta description tag is important because, if present, this is what Google will show when a page from your site comes up in the search results, underneath the page title.

    Therefore it is worth having a meta description focussed on the page specific content that will make the person who reads it want to click through to your page and find out more.

    No offense but I wouldn't advertise on your website.

    Why? Who is going to come to your website with a META tag title as map-traffic.com. The only traffic your going to get are from people who click on your link within the forums..

    You've also to bear in mind a new domain will take up to 12 months to rank for competitive keywords in Google due to the Sandbox.

    The only way most people will advertise is if your site got a decent enough page rank to qualify it as a good link.

    I dont get it, I didnt ask if anyone wanted to advertise on my site? why am I getting flamed? I only asked if anyone wanted to exchange links? if you didnt want to, you dont have to tell me you dont want to, and thankyou for the people who msged me about getting a link exchange and thankyou dan for providing me with information that I will use.

    I will get back to everyone for the link exchange very soon.

    Also I didnt post this in a "review my site" forum i posted with the title "Update"

    You didn't ask just for a link :)

    You asked questions and I think people have replied to them.

    You have to understand that more and more of these types of pixel related advertising sites are appearing on the internet, and people charge a sum to advertise on them.

    If your site isn't getting traffic or ranking well in the search engines - what's the point in people advertising in them. I gave you some good advice, i.e. change your title tag.

    thx darren, youre right i know youre just trying to help me out, and ill really appreciate the info.

    oh and one more thing whats wrong with the website being an image?, im just saying that the website is a map? and thats an image?

    Michael its Flaming! I setup http://www.buythemap.com about 3months ago - quite interested how you came up with the concept ;)

    Anyway yeah you really need to work hard on it for the first month to get the launch going, quite a few sites have now latched on to my idea as well (maybe you copied someone that copied me!) I think there are about 10 now so you will have to push hard initially to get away from the crowd. Sort out the Meta Tags, PR, SEO etc and spend money advertising and doing press releases and you may break out.

    Also site looks a bit off centre to me...!

    Anyway good luck and if you do well you could get quite a lot for some of your properties...check this out!
