Looking for webhost including email for an ecommerce website

Hi I have a small ecommerce website hosted on LCN.com for a few years. The package I have has included from the start "5 x 5GB mailboxes" for my domain name.
This year LCN are asking for an additional £488 inc VAT to keep my email mailboxes. This is crazy, something I cannot afford and hence my question:
Recommendations please for a reliable UK-based web host including 5 email mailboxes. I already have my own domain name registered, so would move this to the chosen web host.

Been happy with these guys for years:

You can have as many emails as you want.

I would split the email out to a separate service e.g. O365 or Google (Zoho have a free account) and just focus on hosting.

This means that if the webhost or domain goes down you will still have some business communication to/from the outside world.

Hi I have been considering that, however would prefer to keep our own domain name for the email address. Thankyou for the suggestion

You would keep your own domain name. Why do you think you wouldn't?

Hi sorry I thought, obviously incorrectly, that if I have a domain name registered, eg "mydomain.co.uk", I can only have emails of the format [email protected], [email protected] etc if I have the web hosting service providing the email hosting. If this isn't the case how does it work using a separate service like zoho

You can sign up to Zoho free tier like I did, and then configure the service to point at your domain.

The configuration bit has all to do with DNS records and such. They provide config instruction.

So, to be clear, you would still retain addresses such as [email protected], [email protected] and so on but they would be sitting on a separate provider, so your risk profile would improve like @Paul Kelly ICHYB suggested.

Your domain is the address for websites and email. You can choose to have websites hosted by one company and emails by a totally different one.

Whilst there is a bit of technical work required, it is something most people can do quite easily.

There is even an argument that you should keep domain registration and hosting separate.

There is. If you have both the domain and hosting with one company they can hold you ransom so that you pay increased fees. Having all three (domain, email, web) with different companies means you can look for the best service for each and keeping everything safe at the same time if one company decides to increase fees.
