Hello everyone, I'm new here! I'm just starting to set up my own pet services businesses in the Durham area, providing a whole range of services such as pet sitting, dog walking, small animal boarding and a pet taxi.

One thing I'm really struggling on though is a name, does anyone have any suggestions?

Something towards the beginning of the alphabet! And have what you do in your name if like me your chosen name doesn't really say what you do. I started out with 'Pet Care Services' on the end, then changed it to 'Dog & Puppy Services' when I had enough dogs to drop the cat sitting.

Choose a name you REALLY like, because changing even part of it is a pain in the neck. Most of my branded work wear has the old name on it.

Whatever you pick have a search to see if anyone else has the same name, and don't choose something too similar to anyone already working.

Just use your name: Fred Blogs Pet Services

Punny names are funny for about a nanosecond. A simple generic name allows the buisiness to expand and evolve.

It might be pet sitting now but in a year or two you may be providing grooms for horses or training sheep or whatver.

You can use the word Durham but what happens if you start transporting animals further afield? Don't limit yourself
