    Hi,

Sorry if some of this sounds basic!

1, Have you tried the reset password link on the Wordpress admin login page?
2, Are you still in touch with the person who did the work? If you are can they log in and go into Users and sort it out for you?
3, Do you have any access to the hosting for example a control panel like cPanel?

Finally if this is your website and you're not hosting it then you really should sort that part out once you get the above sorted.

If you can’t access anything you have probably locked yourself out. Too many attempts will automatically block your IP address.

You could try using your phone with WiFi disabled.

Yes, l have emailed the person that helped me and waiting to hear. I can’t get access to my control panel🙁
OK hopefully they will reply and get you access :)

Seriously take this as a lesson though and get your own hosting that you have access to and control, you can always allow people access to do things for you and then once done take their access away.

    Keep us posted!

Maybe Nina does have control but has locked herself out but entering the wrong credentials too many times.

Maybe out of Wordpress yep I agree but from her own words it seems she does not control her own hosting and the person who did the work appears not to also.

It's one of those what if she couldn't contact either person? at least if she had her own hosting then that's a non issue, however if she cannot then it's a rather large issue.

BTW, if all else fails and you can access the database, you can change it there, but it is a pain!

If you can get to the database it's actually really easy to do in php myadmin.

Navigate to the database then the table ending _users

Find your user and click edit.

Type what you would like as the password in the user_pass field

Choose MD5 from the dropdown menu on the same line as user_pass

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Go

    That's it done!

    Don't believe you
I am a mod, so will not break the cardinal rule of self promoting, however, this is a great way of getting clients and upselling!

Sounds like a great way of spending money on servers and attracting freeloaders to me ;)

It is a dirty word, but sometimes there is a bit of brass in thee muck!

Also, doesn't take any time, as automated, but when people realise they can't create a website or don't really want to, where do they go first?

We see "free" as a dirty word. Anyone who isn't willing to pay for our time isn't worth our time.
I’ve made a lot of money by giving away free things.

Hmm, not sure that will work. Current versions of WordPress salt the password before hashing, and hash multiple times.

Yes, it does work. I did it last week for a client. Was done in a couple of minutes.

I very much doubt that Nina will be able to add that to her site. Mainly because she is locked out!
