Since links are important maybe I should start using my site instead of ImageShak to host my images as these are links to photography sites and I can get 200 views per image in a day, all that traffic is lost.
I'm not sure that I have got this correct - but I think that you are saying that you direct people to your images on ImageShak to view your pictures?
In this case then YES, you shuold host the images yourself in order to get this traffic...
If on the other hand you are saying that all the images displayed in your website are originally hosted on ImageShak and are viewed "through" your website then there is no need from an SEO point of view to change things (as far as I know).
