Linking Facebook to Website.

I am trying to link my business facebook page to my website.

I did have a facebook logo on my website with a link which took people to my profile page, how do I get the link to take people to my facebook page where they can't change my details.

My website is Serif x8 there technical team have said several times they will send me a link but have not.

Please help, I am sure this should be easy.

Serif x8.... not a good place to be.

I'm assuming you want your facebook feed to display on your site. If so then this is what you need: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin

Select the options and get the code. Add this to your site in the right place and upload to the server.

If all you want to do is send people from your web site to your fb page, then just click on your name (at the top next to the search box) and it will take you to your fb page. Copy the URL of that page and put it on your web site.

This is mine, for example https://www.facebook.com/bappoo

But, the problem here is that you are sending traffic away from your web page, which is not something that you really want to be doing. It's better to use FB as an inbound traffic collector and then capture details of the audience you are getting on your site. This can be done with Serif, bu its a bit tricky and not very smooth, far better to change to wordpress.

Thank you for both of your advice, I have now managed to do it, I knew it should be simple!

I hadn't thought of FB as taking people away from my website, I saw it as an additional page to show people what a great time they can have in a motorhome.

We used Serif because it came with the company and being complete novices we wouldn't be able to say how good it is compared to others. Interesting that you both say it is not the best, what advantages does Wordpress (or others have) over Serif?

Facebook should push people to your site, not the other way round. Everything a visitor needs should be on the site not split between the site and Facebook.

Serif is dated, clunky and not very Google friendly. A platform like Wordpress will give you so much more freedom in styles, layout, content management and everything else. You will find it much much easier to use and maintain than a site built using serif.

Absolutely agree with fisicx, wordpress from my perspective allows me to do a lot more things a lot easier. So for example, if I want to capture email addresses of my visitors to a mailing system, theres a plugin for that and a whole load of other things.

Thank you for your advice on Serif, I am just changing webhosting for my website, after that I will have a look at WordPress.
