Leaflet Distribution business advise

Hi all, haven't really used this forum but intend to as there are some very knowledgable and helpful people on here.

I own and run a successful carpet & upholstery cleaning business and am into my 5th year and things have taken off as hoped.

For a few years I have toyed with the idea of setting up a leaflet distribution business and feel it still a good idea if I can set something up along side my cleaning business. I have researched it in depth but would still appreciate any advise. I am considering sending my own leaflets out with others which I feel should give other companies reassurances as obviously if my own leaflet is going out too its in my interest too to ensure they get delivered.

I would appreciate any opinions, I don't intend to take over the world with this but if I can generate a 2nd income whilst getting my own leaflets delivered I would be happy.

If anyone knows of any software for mapping/how many houses on each street etc I would be very grateful. Also any good tracking software.

you can just use royal mail website, for postcode households numbers
just google "royal mail customer finder door to door "

Aye I would recommend the Royal Mail service, it is based on postcode etc and takes all of the management of the issue out of your hands and into others which are more defined.

Actually having someone do this on your behalf also brings up other issues:

1. Are they trustworthy
2. Will they deliver the leaflets
3. Cost implications

Reason why I say this is that when I was a kid I used to drop leaflets off myself, some of the other guys said they did but I caught them dumping. There is also the aspect of them cutting across lawns etc to do shortcuts which can annoy the homeowner.
