Sorry All

I am getting fed up with companies just responding with sales pitches.

Lets keep this clean and keep pitches to the right areas.

If you agree please post here and someone may listen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Back on topic......

In my opinion it is more fun being here without constantly promoting my business, I have a link in my URL, if people want to use my services they will, if they don't they won't. No big deal either way.

What get's my goat is the people (less mods of course) who make it their mission to say hi to every single new member who comes along.

It's not courtesy - it's spamming!

I assume you mean more than a straight 'hello and welcome', as being made to feel welcome makes you feel that you belong which is a vital part of community intergration whether it's in person or online.

Someone who says hello to everyone isn't a spammer, hello do you want to buy some printing is pushing it I admit. We should be encouraging people to say hello and welcoming new members not discouraging.

And you seem to suggest that if you are a mod it's ok to 'spam' within a welcome, special privalidges a :), assuming my understanding of your post is correct of course?

I do find it rather tedious that some people always post to intros with:

"Hi and welcome, you could benefit from our free xyz because [insert extremely tenuous link between new member and the service being sold], click my link"

or something along those lines. I try just to ignore it (or delete it if I'm in moody mod mode), but it still tarnishes my opinion of the culprits and I wouldn't touch their 'free' service with someone elses barge pole, although I'm sure they don't give a damn : )

I wish I had found this site sooner I am also a member of ecademy which is very serious and difficult to find help.....
