Can anyone recommend an insurance company or broker who can help. My husband has been offered a 3 month engineering sub-contract, for which he will need Public Liability insurance. We are struggling to find a part-year policy that is not ridiculously exhorbitant

I can recommend Fenton Insurance Solutions, used them for two businesses I used to work for, cut the insurance bill of the second company in half. Might be able to help. I

you will stuggle to get just a three month policy, however you will be bale to take an annual one out, and cancel it for a return. its unlikely to be a pro rata return in the first year, but you will get one

Thanks, looks like we may have a reasonable quote,now. Will just have to accept paying for a year while using it for 3 months.

Can't you take out a policy, pay monthly, and cancel it when he's done?

It doesn't look like it. They appear to be annual premiums that you pay monthly on a credit agreement, and if you cancel you only get a tiny proportion refunded.
